Daddy Dates & Brennan's 5K

 Two peas in a pod.

I can't get enough of this guy; he's stunning!

Patrick took Isla on a date.  They rode their bikes to a playground and had a picnic lunch.  Isla was thrilled!

Kellan and Elena participating in the toddler x-games.

The Browns gave Patrick this shark for Christmas and I just got around to filling it with helium.  There is a remote that can control a weight on it's belly to make it rise or fall, as well as propel it forward with the tail.  It's movements are very realistic and he's really fun to drive around!

It took some of us some time to warm up to him.  Also, when we aren't using it the shark will silently follow the air currents from room to room and sneak up behind you about 10 minutes after you pass him.  Pretty creepy!

Brennan has been participating in Running With the Stars this Spring and has been staying after school twice a week since March to run.  The kids worked up to a 5k, which they ran in mid-May.  (I had been looking forward to being Brennan's buddy runner, but due to my toe issue Patrick ended up subbing in.)

Comparing numbers.

Lining up!

And they're off!

Sprinting down the home stretch for a strong finish!

Our little road warrior.

Done!

Daddy sharing his post-race donut.

Brennan and Ivan ran together and then ate (many) donuts together.

Spirit night for the elementary school at a local pizza place.

Spring Celebrations

I broke my pinky toe a couple of weeks ago by walking into a doorframe.  It was pretty painful and not what I need to be dealing with right now, but it's been set and is healing and I only have a couple of more weeks in my stylish boot.

This was my main activity for a few days.

The first graders at Brennan's school hosted a music and arts show.

Brennan's self-portrait.

Brennan's fan club.

He was a stinkbug in the musical.

All tuckered out.

We celebrated Oma's birthday with a picnic at a park along the Potomac.

Followed by DQ!

Happy Mother's Day!  My sweeties treated me to breakfast in bed!  My breakfast of champions included a banana, a peanut butter chocolate chip granola bar, a glass of milk, and a bowl of peanut butter with a spoon.  It was delightful!!

Haircuts for all my friends!
