Love and War
Can’t say that I disagree.
But one surely can choose how one’s going to win it. how much one’s willng to sacrifice. How much resource be used. How many casualties and other damages.
And based on that, one can decide whether one’s going to war/pursue the love or not.
I do not believe in war. I don’t think there is ever good enough reason to do it because all the harm done is always greater.
I also do not believe in hurting so many people while getting the love of your life.
how one can be so happy over so many wounded hearts?
Just like war, how can one build something good over something so ruined and spoiled? Europe can heal itself in hundred of years. I don’t think one can remember if there’s ever a peace in Middle East. Some Asian countries are still struggling after all the devastation of war. It is not easy to make something, especially from some rubble. It takes a lot of time, work, more sacrifices, patience, strenght etc. some countries can not recuperate and still live in the ruins. In some ways, this could happen to a relationship.
And to the casualties, do humans live long enough to heal their wounded heart?
Some do, but some just can not get over their pain.
Does one willing to take the responsibility of making some one/people unhappy?
Personally, I don’t think I deserve someone if I have to cause so much pain to so many people to get him. But I’m not a passionate person. So there.

crumbling
sometimes I feel like a parent with my so called clients.
A couple of weeks ago, one of my colleague was talking about them in bad ways and I was quite mad at that person. like a parent, even though what dia said was partially true, it was soooo annoying hearing it from others. It was like you got the sole right to trash your ‘child’ and how dare you judge them kinda thing.
Other evidence occured yesterday. They’ve done quite a big fault and I thought that I really really had to be serious because ignoring it will cause a bad example to present and future ‘clients’. So I got them together, told them what’s wrong and explained what are the consequences. Some of them quite mad, some of them accept that they’ve done wrong and willing to make it better. I had to confront ‘kicking and yelling child’, ‘kicking and crying child’, ‘kicking and swearing child’, ‘silently grinding their teeth with anger child’, ‘I-don’t-give-a-poo-child’, ‘I’m-innocent-why-are-you-punishing-me child’ etc. I had hurt their egos and I had to deal with each and everyone of them with special-customised-care.
boy, was I exhausted!!!!
it took a lot of energy to stay focused, be rational, saying what’s necessary and holding your tounge. It took even more energy to stay calm, not letting yourself carried away and talk back to useless ranting. Even came to a point where I almost lose my head and had to do ‘the-don’t-mess-with-me’ glare and tone to one of them. I’ve never been in a room with more than 20 people looking at me with utmost hatred and frustration. I guess I have to congratule myself for trying to be a good parent and a bad cop for these kids. As I walked out of that room, I could still feel their furious glare. Even felt it in the hall.
And then I felt guilty. Then there’s these questions popping into my head. Did I do the right thing? Did I say the right words? Was I pushing them too far? Did I expect too much of them? what they did was unacceptable, but was I too hard on them? was all this necessary? BLAH.
Oh well. I got to do what I got to do.
I also wonder, is it their upbringing? Does their behavior have somehting to do with always getting what they want, when they want? always being the most popular among their friends and families. Always got away with it. is it true that people always adore them because they are rich and beautiful and that makes them rarely use their head? Did it pained their ego so much because I caught them red handed? Because I gave the notion of bigger authority than them? because I gave the notion that they can’t wiggle it? because I can but don’t want to give what they want? Why? Why?
What can I do to make these better?
What I hate about being in a confrontation was that my head kept remembering it. what I said, what I supposed to say to make my point better and how I felt back then. So hours (sometimes even days) after it happened, my head still kept reliving it. and that made me restless and depressed.
This past week was quite hard and I don’t get enough rest. Moreover, I had to finish some report. Then yesterday. Last night I literally fell into pieces.
Thank god I have chubbs to cuddle me.

Forgive & Remember
Anyways.
About forgiveness.
According to this month’s theme, this is supposed to be the month of forgiveness.
Karena dia, saya menyadari bahwa seeing your loved ones being hurt is much more painful than if you yourself being hurt.
We survived.
Don’t even know how to define that word.
How do you know if you have forgiven someone?
I did that, but I know that I haven’t forgiven.
You forget about it? Then how come there’s the ‘forgive but not forget’ phrase? I forget about it often, but remembering them still pained me.
Quit being angry? Haven’t done that either.
Karena dia, saya menyadari I’m capable of hating someone so much that I’m almost consumed by that.
Probably.
I tried so hard not to judge this person, thinking that I can not compare them, they are totally different people. But time passes, and the more I heard about that person, more symptoms are confirmed. Like seeing a movie remake. You know the characters and the ending, but still hoping that it won’t be the same. But the more you watch, the more horrified you are because you know that it is.
orang ini membuat teman-teman saya saling mencurigai. mereka saling berprasangka sehingga nice gesture considered to be an offense. From both sides. It’s somehow frustrating to see them not talking to each other. Yeah, throw away years of friendship over this person who may not be worth it. Nice.
Some people are born to cause you harm.
It’s up to us to stand up and get stronger or be a loser.

'klien'
anyways.

museum
Then I was blessed enough to go to London and my uncle took me to the National Gallery. I was not impressed because he took me to see all the paintings of rich people from the past, paintings of battles, fat naked lady bathing, dying old man, gods and goddesses, torture etc. It was interesting but the only paintings I could digest is impressionism (I found out later that The Gallery hold quite a huge collection of that era, but my uncle didn’t took me there because he didn’t like them. boohoo……) so I didn’t enjoy it too much. And then he took me to British Museum and it was so much fun!!!! I no longer remember what’s on display but the image of old, boring and scary museum was all gone. This museum is bright, the display looked old but they were properly maintenanced. No more boring museums.
Ever since that trip, I always look forward to go to the museum whenever I had the chance to travel abroad. I’m not into history but I love to picture how people in different era lived. I imagined how this particular items on display have survived, events they had gone through, people who used them. Going to the museum for me is like window shopping to this giant store but I don’t have to worry that I’ll want anything on display because it’s not for sale. Go to the Museum store, then I’ll start to panic. ;p

blah
waaaaagh….. seems like ages since I last updated this blog.
Got no office time to steal. Heh heh heh.
Can’t concentrate on anything right now.
Hibernating would be nice.
Last week I took a day off. I was emotionally exhausted and decided I need a break just minutes before going to work. Spending one whole day with darling-dearest bubu turned out to be the best break I’ve ever had. I came back the next day refreshed and happy again.
I didn’t know why then. All I know was that I had to be in a cheerful environment if I want to stay nice to some people. I had to avoid some people or I show my anger to them. I had to avoid them or I’ll be hostile.
I guess I was dissappointed because I realized that I was delusional, trying hard not to admit that I too think of some people as spoiled brats. All this months, I was trying not to see them as some people see them, not being judgemental, see them past their status, but look at them as a grown up human being. I keep telling my friends and families that despite their upbringing, they are different.
But some events that occurred a while ago has proven the other way. I was right, the silent majority were this motivated-eager to learn-grown ups (at least they tried to be). But this annoying minority, this fed by a silver spoon lot have just confirmed to me the other way. They showed me just how spoiled they are, showed me that what other people saying about them are true. True-blue-starving-for-attention-drama-kings/queens-no-one-understand-me-always-get-what-they-wanted-spoiled-brats (you, yes you, my dear cuz, am really happy to say, are not among them).
To think that I tried to make those idealistic people change their point of view about them and all I got is this.
Geez…….
UGH STOPPIT!!! I become them it I continue this.
Well I guess it’s all my fault. I expect them to be like the other people here, this motivated people who know what they wanted and not get things so easily. It was shocking to meet the other kind. But I’ll learn.
So, let them bring on all their problems
I'll do better than my best
I have confidence they'll put me to the test
But I'll make them see I have confidence in me

chubbs

*sappy mode on*
who patiently waiting while i tried 10 pairs of shoes and end up buying a pair of trousers instead
who laugh gleefully whenever I sang the wrong lyrics
who answer all my purposedly garing questions, knowing that it’ll amuse me
who gives a perfect rub in the neck (I have to beg for that one)
who gives a big bear hugs
whom I miss.

gender & coffee
this afternoon i went to starbucks with my brother & sister. he ordered black, espresso con panna for me and espresso americano for her.
the cashier guy said: you guys really do like coffee, dontcha?
me thinking: huh????? yeah.... we do come here for the coffee. its kinda lame for me, but that’s okay ‘cause i dont want to stay up all night anyway.
when we pick up our order from the barista, he said:
have you been here before? have you ever tried espresso before?
it’s like: are you sure?
i was totally puzzled. something is not right here.
of course i can stand some starbucks espresso. i may not a coffee freak, but i drink kopi tubruk at home, and its indonesian variety. java arabican. geez. what’s with all the fuss?
my sister then explained things. she said that she used to that. the waiter always put a cup of her male friend’s cappucino in front of her instead of the espresso she ordered. and when she ordered one, the waiter often warns her that it’s bitter. she said that she often gets the puzzled look when she ordered sugarless coffee.
hmmm.... is that so? how peculiar....

salute
salam ganesa!!!
bakti kami untukmu
Tuhan
bangsa
dan almamater
first learned to do it ten years ago. (yes, i'm that young ;p)
can't remember last time i heard it, but i just did a couple days ago. this time, it's the new students. sounds so ancient, and this old feeling came back again. i never ever proud to salute like that, never ever connected with it, never did it with all my heart.
maybe because it kinda reminds me of how the nazis salute each other.
so arrogant. so full of ourselves. so us.
maybe that's why.....

buruan cium gue
baru-baru ini, film buruan cium gue ditarik dari peredaran atas desakan beberapa pemuka agama.
gak, saya bukan menyesal karena belum sempat nonton dan emang ga ada niat sama sekali buat nonton karena reviewnya jelek sekali (jika review media lokal udah bilang jelek, berarti memang parah sekali. biasanya media lokal agak berbaik hati dengan film indonesia. mungkin takut dicap ga cinta produk sendiri. heheheh) saya kesel karena para penonton ga diberi kesempatan untuk memilih dan menilai sendiri. belum apa2 sudah main pasung seenaknya aja. persis kaya jaman dahulu kala itu deh. penonton dianggap terlalu bodoh untuk berpikir sendiri.
jadi begini, menurut review yang saya baca (biasanya saya baca review media lokal untuk film2 yang saya ga akan nonton tapi pengen tau ceritanya. aneh deh, reviewer lokal ini kok payah sekali. review film tapi diceritain semua. all the spoilers!!!! totally ruin all the excitement and surprise deh. but thats another story) ceritanya adalah tentang seorang anak sma cewe yang penasaran karena udah lama pacaran tapi belum dicium ama pacarnya. akhirnya dia berusaha dengan berbagai cara supaya bisa dicium sama pacarnya ini. naaahhh... ternyata cerita begini bikin gerah para pemuka agama karena dianggap mengajak untuk berbuat zinah (bukan, bukan kesatria putri nan sakti mandraguna jaman dahulu kala itu loh. BRAAKKKKK.... kena timpuk sepatu adekku gara2 terlalu garing). lah pacaran kok cium-ciuman.... nanti kebablasan jadi sex pra nikah dll dst.
kenapa sih ga dibuka aja, kaya gini:
such fuss over one tiny movie. a rotten one!!!!!
GAK ADA KERJAAN.
jeez, i cant believe i'm this upset. but then again, stupidity & banalities annoys me.

being able to see a doctor when you’re sick is quite a priviledge in my country. Not everyone has the resource to pay the huge bill to receive a few minutes of examination. What i don’t understand is, why do we have to wait hours just to see them? Yes yes, there’s so many sick people out there, there are too few doctors to handle them. But still, are their management skill so poor that they can’t look for, design & implement some system to make the waiting time shorter? Or if they are too preoccupied with their expertise, can’t they hire someone competent enough to do it for them?
It’s so bloody easy really:
- determine how much time approximately needed for each consultation
- ask each of the patient to make an appointment first. Ask them to be prompt or they have to wait for next available time.
- Of course nobody can’t predict when and if one’s going to be sick. So, if the patient’s already sick, they can simply be given time when they’re going to see the doctor, how long they’re going to have to wait, and if they can’t/don’t want to, send them to somebody else.
And the doctor can rest between each appointment so each and every patient could get their best attention & suggestions.
I used to go to my mum’s internist and it’s horrible to see those sick patients waiting patiently (maybe that’s where the word patients come from: patience. Hey, i don’t think that refers to patiently waiting to see the doctor!!!!) for hours in not so comfortable waiting room. I mean, they have suffered strokes and some of them are old fer cryn’ out loud!!!! And what did the doctor do? Poke here, poke there, said ‘you’re all fine’, give some resep dokter, tell us when to come back, take our money and ..... NEXT COW PLEASE!!!!
And most of them never tell us what and why are they going to do us. I think every patients are entitled to know because it’s our body they’re going to mess with. Ohkaayyy.... waaayyyy back then, when most of the people are illiterate and don’t have any access to information, it will be hard to explain to them. But now.... helloooo....... ever heard of internet before? Health Books? Health Magazines? Surely most people could understand what they are talking about. I seriously think that they have to give a communication course in every med school here.
Please doc, treat your patients decently, not like some stupid objects.

idealistic
Itu loh...... orang2 yang kalo kita ga ikutan demo terus ngatain kita ga peduli nasib bangsa, ga peduli rakyat kecil, borju dll dst. Kemudian ketika kita ikutan demo marah2 lagi, dianggapnya kita Cuma mau ngeceng doang (duh.... coba ya, mau liat apa sih di demo? Orangnya lusuh2 semua.......)

ramblings & adam@home
Buh.
It would be perfect if chubbs’s office is nearby so he can give those big bear hugs whenever i need them.
A perfect way to end a long tiring day is bubulibu welcoming chubbs & me in his diaper with his big smile and his loud laugh saying ‘odaaaannggg........... onchiii..........’
Another way to end a bad day is cudlling up with chubbs.
What else?
Oh, i’m into adam@home right now. Hilarious!!!!
this one reminds me of 2 of my favorite guys in the whole wide world. mmmuuaahhh!!!!

wandering mind-information system meeting part II
i think my body's grown accustomed to it.
yay!! it's friday. hope older bro keep his promise to come. kinda miss him.
oops.. they ask me about something. um. huh? what was that again????
it's been too long since i was surrounded by typical-my-campus-student. kinda amusing to see those kinds again, as opposed to students i meet which is those metrosexual-y (well, they are if you compare it with that other kind. heheheh.....) too bad that geeky-boyish one can't make it today. if i had a son, i wish he will grow up like him. you know, bill-gate-ish.
anyways, there are 5 IT guys, 4 wear glasses and all of them geeks. . (not in a bad way, mind you. i prefer geeks than metrosexuals. guys who groom themselves better than i do intimidate me :p). the students on my campus are more trendy these days. they shower regularly, wearing matching shirts and pants, smell nice, look nice, comb their hair etc. it's so refreshing to see those kinds i used to meet when i was a student myself.
ah, 4 o clock! i better excuse myself. todeloo!!!!

bubulibu
and how fast he learns things!!!! always adding words to his vocabulary. i always warn chubbs not to swear in front of him, just in case. its so hilarious whenever i taught him things to bother chubbs. and also endearing because chubbs loves to be bugged by him. hehehehe..... yesterday, i taught him to pat chubbs bum and give a 'POK' sound effect to it. i had blast seeing his happy face and chubbs annoyed-but-cant-help-it-because-its-also-funny face. the classic is asking him to find chubbs's belly button then he will excitedly lift chubbs shirt and point to chubbs big belly.
he remembers songs too!!!! he remembers all the song his mum and i used to sing when he's just a baby. i remember teaching him this very silly song about tagoning waaay before he learns to talk, and he remembers it. his mum used to hate that song because its so goofy. but now she's really amused when his son sing it with me. his mum always warns me not to teach him silly things because she knows how mischievious i can be to my little nephews. heh heh heh
every day i cant wait to come home and play with him....
this is bubu + me singing silly tagoning song:
abdi rombo? ngan
tago? ning
ti olohe? jooooo
bade minton? keun
rupi-rupi kaseni? aaaannnn
itallic=me bold=bubu happily answers the song
hm, might sound not funny, but anyone who play a lot with their nephews or parents with babies would understand how i feel. ;P

everything's upside down with this renovasi going on in my office. last monday, the networking's down so i have to go back and forth with chubb's removable disk just to print out my docs and disturbing my coworker. and no internet either, just when i was waiting for some important emails. aaaarrrgghhhh..... mau marahhhh!!!!!
we moved one level up, so my room is right above the cafeteria on the next building. every now and then i can smell what's cooking down there, which is quite good but make your tummy rumbling and tumbling like pooh.

smug newlyweds
i was recently got married dan jauh-jauh hari sebelumnya saya berjanji untuk tidak menjadi smug bride-to-be/bride/newlyweds/marrieds.
smug = telling your single friends to “cepetan nyusul.....”, nanya “kapan atuh......?”, talk nothing else but my wedding plans/married life dan teman2nya. Yep, i’ve been on the other side and it sucks!!!!
entah kenapa, saya merasa pernyataan/suruhan/encouragement/whatever untuk segera menikah dari orang yg baru aja menikah seems so ..... inappropriate.
“Hello..... you’ve been married for a nanosecond and you’re already encouraging us to follow suit? What the hell do you know about married life? You don’t even know whether you’re going to like it! Are you trying to lure us into the same trap?” Hahahahaha...... gosh i wish i could say that......

saw this movie last weekend. frightheningly cool!!! natural disaster movie always frightens and amazed me. especially if it caused by careless human activities. coming out of the theatre i always promise myself to be kinder to nature, try my best not to harm the earth more. but i guess i'm not strong enough. a couple of days later i will drive my car to my cousin's house which is only a block away, forget to turn off the tv, basically wasting the precious energy and polluting the atmosphere. oh well... no matter how many movies we saw, if we are not directly affected then there's no feeling of urgency to do something.

smoker
but somehow, i can't totally blame them. some smokers just don't realize that their habit is bothering people around them. maybe because we are taught to be tolerant and not to speak up, indonesian non-smoker just let them huffing and puffing like an engine and not telling them what's bothering us. maybe because the society accept their behavior. maybe they are just not aware of the dangerous impact they've caused.
what i hate the most is sophisticated-trendy-hey-i'm-rich-and-educated-smoker but have no smoking manners whatsoever. they do it in malls, in non-smoking section of public places and have this careless innocent look on their faces. and if any non-smoker have enough guts to tell them that they are polluting the air, they gave this 'you are so f***ing RUDE, i don't give a s****, you don't like us, you move' look. i usually give them the 'too bad, you can take them out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of them' look. heh heh heh .......

cats & dogs
i mean, what's the point on barking? you can't do anything to the cat. the cat didn't give any s***t. just wasting your time and energy. but i guess, the dog is just being what he is.
speciesically correct, maybe cats are as stupid as dogs, but they never show it. the example of this can be found in this manga which captures the very nature of cats.
i think i am sooooo cat people.

wandering mind
people talking but am not listening. funny how they talk in my language but i couldn't understand a thing. my mind started wandering about.
think i'll post something about this in my blog. yes yes, my seadanya blog. hehehe..... its simple and full of errors but its mine.
then my hopping mind going someplace else called passion.
it would be really nice if i'm passionate about my current job. how perfect if i could find something. anything.
sounds desperate, ain't i?
blame it on this meeting on information system. hehehehe......
dasar gaptek. :p

firasat
ditulis oleh Dewi Lestari
kemarin
ku lihat awan membentuk wajahmu
desau angin meniupkan namamu
tubuhku terpaku
semalam
bulan sabit melengkungkan senyummu
tabur bintang serupa kilau auramu
aku pun sadari
'ku segera berlari..
cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
firasatku ingin kau 'tuk, cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
akhirnya
bagai sungai yang mendamba samudera
ku tahu pasti kemana kan 'ku bermuara
semoga ada waktu
sayangku
'ku percaya alam pun berbahasa
ada makna di balik semua pertanda
firasat ini, rasa rindukah ataukah tanda bahaya
aku tak peduli
'ku terus berlari
cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
firasatku ingin kau 'tuk, cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
dan lihatlah sayang
hujan turun membasahi, seolah 'ku berair mata..
cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
firasatku ingin kau 'tuk, cepat pulang
cepat kembali, jangan pergi lagi
aku pun sadar
engkaulah firasat hati...
duh ......
