SIX YEARS

This week Josh and I celebrated our six year anniversary! I can't believe we have been married that long... I told him I'm pretty sure we can make it at LEAST another six! We have been having so much fun and growing so much together. The trials we have faced have usually been met with so much humor, such an eternal perspective, and of course unconditional love.

At the end of this month Josh's twin Johnny will be getting married. It has been really fun to see him just starting this journey! I am so excited for Johnny and Cindy- I can't wait!

I also want to give an update on the awesome summer we have had! I can hardly believe that we are so blessed to have so many fun adventures, but the full story and hopefully some pictures will have to come later!

Circus?

So about a month ago our place was fumigated. I guess they found that some of the units we are connected with have termites- yikes- so this was the answer. I never really knew how it worked and always wondered- so I thought I'd share!

We had to pack up all our food in these special bags:

You even have to bag toothpaste, dog food and lipstick- anything that could be ingested. I was really good and double bagged everything just like they said- I don't want to get sick! It pretty much felt like I was packing up to move- not fun...

Even everything in the fridge had to be bagged up:

We had to leave early on a Thursday morning so while Josh went to the school to study- Ellie and I went to the beach!

Later that day we drove by just to see- it pretty much looks like the circus! One big tent covered ours and the four others that our place is connected to.

They took off the tent on Friday morning and we were allowed to come back on Saturday. It was definitely a unique experience that I don't want to have to go through again!

Crazy Airplane

This is an airplane that has been on display at T5- JetBlue's JFK terminal.

The wings just fold right up and it even lands on water! Pretty cool- huh?

Studying Hard...

Josh has been studying so hard lately. We're talking 10-12 hours a day. I mostly just try to leave him alone so he can stay in the zone. The other day I went to see if he needed anything when I found him like this-

He looks to be hard at work, but he was really just drawing pictures!

HA HA!! This is really how he is studying lately- but it works, so what can I say?

When we moved to Southern California I thought I was really gonna miss winter and snow and all that, but nope not really. I have loved the warm weather and I have enjoyed the frequent rain storms. Here is a pretty tree right outside my front door- blooming in February!

Of course I still get to see snow when I travel. I actually found myself in the nation's capital between two of their biggest storms on record. Fortunately I didn't have to leave the airport- but this was the snow piled on top of the jetbridge-

I hope you all have stayed warm this winter and are enjoying thawing out as spring is right around the corner!

Go Todrick Hall!

I know someone on American Idol! Todrick went to school with me for just one year of middle school. I would bet that he doesn't really remember me, but I remember him! Sixth grade was kind of a turning point for me, and Todrick was one of my closest friends- he was someone who helped steer me in the right direction at a difficult time in my life. I remember him saying that he had just moved (or was about to move) to Plainview and I knew he was into theatre and musicals. In our English class we had to read a biography and do a presentation on the person we studied. I honestly don't remember who mine was about, but Todrick's was on Walt Disney! He wore a Mickey Mouse costume and did this whole presentation on roller skates! I remember him talking about his mom a lot- he definitely seemed like a mama's boy! After he moved we didn't keep in touch or anything, but when the whole facebook thing started- I searched for Todrick and nothing turned up. Then Josh and I were watching AI and I was like- seriously- I know him! It doesn't really surprise me- he is so talented!

If you watch American Idol- vote for him! Not only is he a fantastic singer- he is a very nice guy (at least he used to be)!

2010 Olympics

I am super excited for the Olympics this year!

I have loved watching the Olympics since I was a little girl. I remember watching the whole Tanya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan fiasco of 1994. That was back when I thought figure skating was the only sport worth watching- I once did a school report on Brian Boitano and I pretty much wanted to be Kristi Yamaguchi!

This year promises to be as great as any other- touching stories and international drama. I have definitely expanded my range of events to watch.... anything on the snow is now a must see- especially if it includes jumping! The USA's awesome talent in snowboarding makes that a good one, and even speed skating has become one of my favorites- you can't really miss it when Apolo Ohno is involved....

The Olympics are such an inspiring culmination of athlete's hard work and determination- such examples of perseverance always give me hope! I wish good luck to all the athletes...... Let the games begin!
