Weekend Fun

On Saturday we went with our friends, the Allens, to support Kent in a 6.4 mile kayak race. It was in Winchester Bay on the Umpqua River. He finished in 3rd place! It was soooo cold and very windy. All the kayak racers were so tired when they finished. They had boats and the Coast Guard on patrol. I think one guy had to be brought back by the Coast Guard because he tipped over. While the race was going on, we ventured through little tents set up. You know, the kind that are at fairs. We didn't buy anything but it was fun to browse. Oh wait, we did buy cotton candy, yummy. The girls were being so good and cute. In the pictures we are waiting in the van at the end of the bay to watch the kayak racers come back towards the finish line. Gracie is in the shirt with a blue strip around the back. Madi also has a bow in her hair. Gracie loves to pull her's out and tug on her hair. What a turkey! That is Kent in the kayak, by the way!

My Everyday....

My family says they have never heard a baby sound like this ever. My dad calls it a velociraptor(spelling?). Jeff says that maybe they could call in an elk. I just think that it is way to high for my ears to take. They have been squealing like this for a long time now. They take turns doing it. This week, obviously it is Gracie's turn to kill mommy's ears. Next week they will switch and it will be Madi's turn. Although Madi was kind of doing it to in the video. My family will call just to hear them squeal in the background. Or when we are on video call they just laugh and laugh. I'm pretty sure our neighbors hate us. So I thought I'd let the rest of you hear what we go through everyday when they get upset. I don't know why they were crying and screaming, because they just ate their breakfast. They should be content. Maybe they just like the sound of their own voices? I think they are spoiled little girls and I love them sooooooooo much, but they act like they are Queens of Sheba!!! Maybe they will be great opera singers when they are older?? Oh yeah, please don't mind the mess on the table behind them. I'm not the best housekeeper. I wanted to also note that they squeal in delight when they are very happy and excited too. Not only when they are upset. I guess you can tell that Gracie isn't really mad in the video. She is just playing off of Madi's cries. Look out Mariah Carey, you've got some competition coming your way!!!

4th of July!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July. It was kind of sad that we weren't home with family. But we had fun hanging out with our friends, Kent, Rebbecca, and Juliana. We went over to their place to have a BBQ and we lit some fireworks for the girls. Gracie and Madi just stared at them and seemed to enjoy looking at the sparkles. Although they did cry when the fireworks made a loud high-pitched noise. Overall they were really good. I have to admit it is hard not being able to stay out late and go see the big fireworks. The girls' bedtime is at 8pm and they were getting tired by the time we left the Allen's. When we got home we put the girls down, and then Jeff and I made smores on our grill, put in a movie and that is when we heard the big booms! They were lighting the fireworks downtown. We really wished we could have been there to see them. So instead we climbed on top of our apartment roof and could see just the tops of the fireworks. Sshh don't tell anyone! So overall we had a great day and night! So you know, Gracie is in the pink and Madi in the yellow. They had fun playing on Juliana's toys, thanks!
