An Apple a Day

What's the one thing that comes to mind when you think about moving to a foreign country?  Please don't let me get put in the hospital.  Well poor Les did just that...got put in the hospital...for 5 LONG days.  He was having some strange swelling in his neck that was painful.  I scheduled him an appointment and after lots of tests that included CAT scans and MRI's they decided that they didn't know what in the world it was and admitted him.  This was no R&R for him though.  He was put on antibiotics that were changed out every hour or so and lots and lots of blood was taken.  He got hardly any sleep over those 5 days.  I would go to the hospital to visit without the kids in the morning and then take the kids back for an hour or so in the evening.  The swelling eventually went down and he came home...tired as can be.  He has been home for over a week and is still trying to catch up on his sleep.  It turns out he just had a really bad infection and we are still baffled as to what caused it.

We have been in China 16 months and so far Saria (for bronchitis), Les and myself (to have a baby) have been hospitalized.  Not a good record.
