out of control

I have said before that Lauren is out of control, but she's at a new level now. Just this week she has a lot of new tricks. First of all, she runs as fast as possible. In the stores if you put her down she will run until you catch her. There is no stopping her. And she's laughing hysterically as you chase her yelling Lauren STOP! She also plays hide & seek and will hide & not make a sound in the craziest places. And she will truly stay still until you find her. I couldn't find her one day and walked into their bathroom and she had climbed up into the sink and was just having a blast eating the toothpaste. Lovely. I did take a picture of this one.
Then Thursday when we were trying to leave for school, I found her at the table with Mason's syrup plate on top of her head, rubbing it all in her hair. Yes, syrup. I didn't get a chance to take this picture, I was too busy yelling and giving another bath.
She also likes to do flips off the couch. NO FEAR.
She loves to keep us on our toes! I can't be mad at her because I know that is how I was too!~ I am told she is her mother's daughter~

I also thought I'd show how cute she is with a ponytail!

Snow

Yes, it snowed in Houston. We were all sick, but it only snows once in a lifetime here so we bundled up & went out. We went out before most of it started sticking but I still got a few cute shots of the kids. Lauren's poor nose was so red- it was actually cold here too!

Audrey Lynn Whaley

I am in Tennessee visiting the Whaleys! Julie & Ethan had their 3rd girl today, Audrey Lynn. She was born at 5:55 pm and weighed 7 lbs. She is so beautiful and healthy! Thank you Lord for a safe delivery and thank you to all that have been praying for them!
Julie is so dear to me and I am just so thankful that it has been such a great day~
To see pictures you can visit Julie's blog. thewhaleylife.com or just click on Julie's link.
Hope everyone's doing well.

Mickey & Minnie

Hope everyone had a safe & fun halloween.
Yes, we were Mickey & Minnie this year~ They were so cute and had such a fun time trick or treating. We circled the entire neighborhood section and they both carried their pumpkins full of treats the whole way! Lauren refused help.
Alan, of course, complained that Mason needed to be a super hero or race car driver instead of Mickey but oh well... he's only 3!! I'm sure this is the last year that it will be my choice-I thought they were precious!

Trick or Treat~

so cute

The kids were so cute the other day when I asked them to take pictures. They both usually run the other way kicking and screaming but for once, they were sweet & smiled!
My secret is, "If you say cheese then you can have a popsicle!"
Anything for a popsicle~

Soccer

A lot has happened in the past month. The kids are loving school and Lauren actually went on Thursday and didn't cry when I dropped her off! This was huge~ She is also talking like crazy and tries to do everything that Mason does.
Mason has started soccer. He is so cute! The first game was a little crazy but now he loves it. He didn't understand why he couldn't play with his soccer ball during the game & why they had to share one ball-hard concept for a 3 year old- but now he's good. He even played goalie and stopped it twice! I can't believe how big he's getting! He's even riding his big boy bike without any help!

His 2 friends Ty & Corbin

And Lauren is crazy about Dora! Everything Dora~even the bike. She can't ride it yet, so she just lifts her feet and flies down the driveway cracking up!

IKE is a bad word.

I am officially a hurricane IKE evacuee.
We have been at Alan's parents for 5 days now with a generator. It has been nice but now I am taking the kids to Abilene for food & real electricity (the kind without the roaring motor in your ear) and normal gas stations without 3 hour long lines, normal grocery stores, a normal place to eat like taco bueno, and of course to see my beautiful nieces.
We are safe & well and that's what is important. Our house is fine even though the neighborhood is not. They are still saying that it could be a while for us in montgomery county. This is crazy!
We are so blessed though- thank you LORD for not giving us a category 4 or 5!
I will post pictures of the storm soon.
Hope everyone is doing ok!!

school

The kids had a great day at school! Mason of course, loved it and didn't want to leave. He was also the only one in class that didn't take a nap~ Lauren cried off and on the entire day but she did eat & took a nap! The second day she did better though. I was so excited that she made it and they didn't call me to come get her!
I tried to take pictures of them but they were not in the mood and we were late! So (as you can see) they aren't great first day of school pictures- thankfully it's only preschool! We have many more first days to come!

Mason was ready but Lauren wanted nothing to do with the picture.

Hard at work!

school time

I can't believe that it's almost time for school to start, which also means that it's Mason's birthday soon! My baby is turning 3 next week- this is my favorite age so far! He's talking like crazy and you can't get anything past him! So cute!
Both Lauren & Mason are going to MDO this year two days a week and I am so excited! We'll see if Lauren actually enjoys her class or if she'll cry all day and they have to call me to come get her- I'll be waiting by the phone the first day. I bet that I'm called by noon. I'll be sure to take their cute first day pictures~ even if Lauren is screaming!
Here are some really fun pictures that I took of the kids in the backyard. They were so sweet that day.

a digital scrapbook page that I made with these sweet pictures.

her shirt says WILD ONE! (very appropriate)

his favorite thing to do is be outside! We signed him up for 3 year old soccer this fall~ should be fun!!

crazy girl

We have nicknamed Lauren "crazy girl"- she is out of control! She can climb up anything~ and "Lauren GET DOWN" only brings that "he-he, look at me" smile to her face. And she laughs until you go physically remove her. Yesterday, I even said that something was going to happen with her. She's almost fallen so many times that we were just waiting.
Well, today, she fell. She was about to climb on the kitchen table when I yelled, Lauren GET DOWN. She went to a squat on the chair and lost her hold on the chair and off she goes. She fell on her back and hit the back of her head hard on the tile. I grabbed her and after she screamed on my shoulder, she lifted her head and her nose was bleeding bad! I saw it happen & I know that it was the back of her head that hit, not her nose, so I am extremely concerned! I called the doc & he said to take her to the ER to be safe. When I put her in the car she fell asleep right away-this scared me alot and I think I drove 100mph. Anyway, after all of that, the doc examined her for a while & she was fine- Doc didn't explain really why the nose bleed but did check all vitals and her head. She said she hit hard enough for her to have to "shake it off & regroup" that's why she was out of it. I guess I am just hoping that explanation is a good one. She seems ok tonight but a VERY scary day for us here.
~please pray for my brother Derran. He is in Thailand for 2 weeks. And for Ann & the girls while he is gone.

Tennessee

I have been meaning to post my Tennessee trip for almost a month now- it's been a little crazy. We had such a great time despite Mason being sick the whole time. He had the stomach bug really bad. We even ended up going to the ER on Thursday night and throwing up in the car on the way home and then again in the bed. Obviously the ER did nothing for us but send us a bill for absolutely no help. Lesson learned~ We LOVE Julie for helping with all of the clean up and just for putting up with my two! We did eventually get to Molly & Barry's to meet baby Hunt. He is precious and we had a great time with them. Of course my two were horrible there but what's new. I'm not sure if we are welcomed back though!! Ha~
Please pray for Mason though b/c he has had this again now 3 times since we've been home. We went to the doctor this morning and had lots of blood taken, an x-ray on his stomach and we have to do 2 more stool samples. Yuck~ Hopefully we will find out what is going on with him.
Here are few pictures from our trip.

We tried to take a picture all week and this is usually how it turned out~ Mason, Alyssa, Lauren & Megan

This is about as close as we got with both girls not crying or running off- they did not want their pictures taken! They are wearing their mommy made outfits!

fun times

It's been a fun month- starting with Brynn's party and then Mason's last day of school. Then Alan & I went to Playa del Carmen for the week and the night we got back Lauren had the stomach virus for 3 days- and now the kids, Grammie & I are off to Tennessee for 8 days! Should be fun~ we are going to see Julie & the girls and then to meet my new nephew Hunt!
Hopefully I will have some good pictures when we get back. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and cherishing every moment~

Brynn's 2nd Birthday

Mason being sweet & sharing!

Mason's last day of school

Mason always tells me that Payton is his girlfriend at school but as soon as I wanted to take his picture he got so embarrassed! It was so cute~

My little golfer! Yes, the ball is coming right at me!

We can finally put her hair in a pony tail! well, kind of!

Going for a ride at Pa-Pa & Ya-Ya's.
