Range Masters

Image
Greg is participating in this post because it is mostly about him and his new "toy," which is a Springfield XD 45. We went to Range Masters today (our second visit) and shot Osama...well, not really. Just a target of him. Too bad. Range Masters is a cool indoor gun range in Springville. Greg LOVES his new gun. I like it too, but we have plans to get me a P22 in the future — less recoil; cheaper ammo. Greg says I'm a pretty good shot. I think it's all luck because I still flinch every time I pull the trigger just anticipating the kick. I'm getting better, though. Greg is a really good shot. Since we're on a bit of a "gun kick," we've been to Cabela's four times in the last month. What a cool store! Greg particularly likes the animals. So do I. I'll also admit that I particularly like their chocolate covered cinnamon bears...a great Olympic treat when watching the underage Chinese gymnasts. Just so you know, pretty much ever...

Flexibility

Not in the sense of being-able-to-do-a-perfect-"downward-dog"-yoga-pose flexibility. Just flexibility in the sense of being able to work really great hours! When we first moved here, I planned on working part-time, so 20 hours a week, from home. But sometimes I have less work than that, and I'm sure I'll have more sometimes. So, I asked my work if it would be OK to just track my hours and just get paid for whatever I work. That was fine with them! So, it's so nice to have that flexibility to work whenever I want. Today I was able to take a nice long break to do a little house straighening and visiting teaching. Then I just came back to my office in the afternoon to check e-mails. When I worked from home before, I had lots of clients that I was expected to be available for, so I was always worried that I had to just be there at my desk in case they called. So, I'm loving being more free to just have a nice work-from-home job with really flexible hours. ...

Blog Slacker

So, I started this blog, and then I never update it! Well, actually I have good reasons. (Don't we all!) We had the craziest July! Good, but crazy. We moved to American Fork on July 8th or so. We are really enjoying it here so far. I had an easy move this time...a moving company did it all for us. I'm sure that I won't be so lucky next time. The rest of July was jam-packed with family reunions, trips to Lagoon, 24th of July celebrations, and just regular "stuff." Greg's brother Kirk and his family were here from Chicago and we had a great time with them. The first part of August has been busy so far, too! We celebrated our 7th anniversary on Aug. 2. Greg's mom and dad had given us a dinner gift certificate to Olive Garden, so we went there for a little anniversary dinner, and we didn't even remember to use the certificate! Next time. On Aug. 8, we had a little family Olympic Party here at our new place. I love the Olympics! The stories a...
