If you went down to the Woods today!

You may have just found a little girl celebrating her 3rd Birthday.

Yes, Amelia turned 3 (please tell me where the years are flying too!)

We had a little teddy bears picnic in the park with a few of her little friends.
Everyone had a lovely time. Teddy Bears were the flavour of the day and I used a teddy bear cutter for everything. The kids had teddy bear biscuits, teddy bear sandwiches, fruit platter and a few other little nibbles yumm! Oh and the teddy bear cake (which melted on the way - thankfully we dont live in Darwin this year or we would have been scrapping the icing off of the board LOL

On My Desk...

I thought that I would start to get into some every week things, anyway to get me back into blogging and crafting. It is Amelia's 3rd birthday in just over a week and this is what is sitting on my desk this morning,

Invites to her teddy bears picnic in the park. Too cute.

Make Believe give Away...

Would you like your chance to win this gorgeous little outfit for the princess in your life?
Well you had better get over to Grosgrain before Monday to be in for a chance. I am in love and think that Amelia would love it. She is starting to do alot of pretend play at the moment and this would be great to add to the fancy dress and make believe dress up box.

Spring has Sprung

Look at what I found in our gardenIsn't he/she cute - oh I love lady bugs - will have to work out how to make it a little banner for my blog (if anyone has any great tips that would be great - I have no idea with html and computer stuff)

But sorry - you are not invited. I think that I have a case of cabbage moth in almost plague quantities. I peeled this one off and about 60 of his friends and gave them the 'under to boot treatment' and they are back again after just two days. This means war grubbidy grub
Hoping to get some knitting and sewing done in the next few weeks - will have to go and pull out that list and work out what i would like to do. Would love to sew some new dresses for Amelia for summer.

A jumper for me - which works out that it is too big - tension correct - but the wool is just too think and bulky for my tiny frame A jumper for a friends little born (remember the one born in a hurry?) All that chocolate cake and coffee paid off A pair of socks to work out how to do them And my current WIP's A pair of socks for Tim and teaching myself how to crochet

Swappity Swap...

Everyone seems to be in love with my handknits this year and with the lack of time that Amelia will let me sit on the sewing machine I thought that I would do a few more market swaps with the girls over at Crafty Mama's

First of Lissy contacted me and asked if I would make her a beanie to keep her head warm when she traveled south to visit family

and this is what we received in return, a lovely dress for Amelia, a few of Lissy's handmade mumma toys and a tiedyed wrap for Baden (not pictured because he has claimed it as his cuddly)

Thanks Lis - we love them all and I so have to buy this pattern when they are next in the CM Shop!

A chocolate swap over at Crafty Mama's was received from Claire

I did not get a picture of the Chocs that we sent - but here is a photo of the Caramel coloured cable beanie that I knitted for the little man in her life. Almost good enough to eat!

And last but not least the fat quarters which I recieved from the lovely girls as part of the Essential Baby Birthday Swap. Looking forward to getting some Amelia free time so I can have a play and create something from them all. I cant tell you what came from who - as the envelopes got wet in the letter box while I was away - and Tim being the loving husband that he is washed them all for me (there were about four that were in plastic - and my lesson has bean learnt now - all of my hand made goodies will now be sealed before posting!

A huge thankyou goes out to Michaela for the lovely mini quilt that she sent me as part of the 'Lucy Locket Recycled her Pocket' Mini Quilt Swap

Just look at all of the lovely detail. The quilt is for Amelia and I received a felted broach, some buttons and ric rac.

Thankyou again Michaela. And a sneaky peak at what is traveling across the seas to you.

I'm a bad bad blogger!

I know, I know I said that I was going to update again the very next day - well that was humm three days ago - opps!

Tim was meant to work the weekend and weeks ago he said that he would take the kids and I to the snowfields before the ice melted to celebrate fathers day as a family. So when he walked in the backyard unexpectedly on Saturday morning it was all systems go for a weekend in the snow. I have never seen, touched or played in snow before so this was all very exciting (Grew up in North Queensland - and holidays to the snow were never on the to do list with my family!) So the verdict. I love it and we are already planning on going up a few times next year and going to book Amelia into the MILO ski lessons (watch this space - the three year old will ski better than her mother!)

And just a few more photos of the kids in there Mummy knitted beanies!
Next update: Mini quilt swap over the seas

While we were away...

Sorry for the photo heavy post that are going to be uploaded in the next few days - I will attempt to split them into a few groups.

We got to spend lots of time with my family, which is always nice and many of them had not met Baden so that was extra special.
Went to see 'Playschool - Live in Concert' Which was enjoyed by all.
Cheered Queensland on to win a very convincing State of Origin.

Went to the show with Grandpa and Grandma, where Amelia wanted to go on this ride and took some convincing that she was not yet tall enough!

Attended the celebration for a friend from Darwin who tied the knot ontop of an elephant in Bali.

And Tomorrow - Swaps and Gifts

Back from here...

Normal Blogging will commence very very soon. I have found my feet after being away and then heading away to a wedding and then another trip to visit family. If I dont pull it together it will be Christmas.

Have lots to share and pictures to share. So stay tuned!
