I need to get back into the habit of writing. It's been 3 and 1/2 weeks since we got home. It sure feels like it's been so much longer then that. I will write all about July latter for now here is a little of what we have been doing!
The kids started school. I think Dillon was the most excited to start. I love that they look forward to school with so much joy. After Dillon finished his first day I asked him how he liked it. He said, with annoyance in his voice, "Mom I didn't learn anything!" I said what do you mean? He said "I was taught the long e sound. I already know that sound." I had to reassure him that right now he is just reviewing from last year. He wasn't too sure about it but accepted my reasoning.
Dakota is doing a independent study program through BYU. She loves it because it is on her pace. She is going to finish the semester well before the normal time. I am not too sure what to do with her. Maybe she will get busy work, OH my favorite.
After living here for almost 2 years Spencer fixed our bikes. The family before us left them for us. Dillon was getting a lesson on one of them. Poor kid hasn't had much time on a bike. We have only a small area where the road is flat. He loves riding as long as someone is holding on to the back of him. Madison has LOVED riding. I can't keep her off it, not that I try. It's great she has something that she loves doing. We had two of the cowboy's families come over. It was so fun to have kids in the house, other than mine. The kids loved pulling out their toys and playing. Sister Parker and I starting doing cooking lessons, when we can. We have done it once here and we went to their home once to learn some Brazilian recipes. It is great getting to know these 2 ladies better and practice Portuguese has they practice their English.
The boys were playing nerf gun baseball.
A friend in our branch invited us to her daughter's first birthday. She said it was going to be a very simple party. Simple in our minds being a couple friends. But to a Brazilian a guess it is 75! They had food, air-hockey, a trampoline, treats, and music. We were the first to arrive and the first to leave. We are definitely not party animals compared to our South American friends. We got a new car! Well the farm did we just get to drive it. It is so nice, a little bigger than our last one. It has all the bells and whistles, complete with seat warmers. I am not sure why seat warmers, you never need them here. It even has a radio! Our last car was very basic and this one is not. It will be fun to break it in for whoever is coming to replace us!!!!
