Moms and kinda muffins

I ran around the house like a crazy women and John even helped me out, trying to get ready to leave. One of my cute darling kids, Ellie, wanted to go to Moms and Muffins. I didn't know if we were going to make it, but we did. We got there and I dropped the kids off and went and parked the car. I went into the school and the girls were standing in line to get a muffin. We get in there and we get 1/4 of a muffin? Really? The dads got a whole donut! I didn't eat breakfast, considering we barley made it, so I was very disappointed. We got our muffins and we were suppose to go sit down and read. We had to hand something in for Jalyse, so that took a bit, but then we went back into the room. Ellie had ditched me for a friend she saw. Ellie didn't even bring any books, this was all about seeing her friends. I have decided that I am not going to another one of these. If they want to see their friends I will just drop them off. Muffins, shmuffins!

Halloween 2011!!!

This year, the girls, both decided to be witches. They were both cute witches! We went out with the girls trick or treating and Jaden went off with a big group of his friends. The weather was actually pretty good to go out.
Cute Trick or Treaters!

We went to a lot of houses and then went by and saw our "Grandma Jacquie" We love her and we haven't seen her in a while. After our visit, with me staying in the car, I wasn't feeling well, we went off to see Grandma and Grandpa "P".
Jaden was a character from Dragon Ball Z. Gohon. We got bits and pieces of it from Deseret Industry's and Burlington. He made it all himself! Way to go Jaden!
All of my cute witches and Gohon!

We had a nice visit with my parents and they got to see the kids costumes. We had a great Halloween!!! Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Ward Halloween Party 2011

We had a ward Halloween Party and the YW and YM were in charge of it. I am in the YW so it made for a crazy event! We had to come up dinner, games and a truck or treat! We had a costume party for the kids and minute to win it games for the adults while the kids were off playing games.  We had soup and chili and veggie trays, hot dogs and rolls. I was back in the back cooking up the hot dogs! I hope everyone had a fun time.
Ellie and her friend Alison in the costume parade.
Jalyse in the costume parade. Both girls and I were witches! I can't believe all three of us were the same thing! It just happen to work out that way.
Jalyse and I at the carnival games. I brought a fishing pond and I ended up being in charge of a duck game. Crazy games!

After the games they were able to go outside and do a trunk or treat. I hope everyone had a great time. Just a few more days to Halloween!

Carving Pumpkins 2011

We carved our pumpkins! I didn't know if we were going to make it this year. With so much going on and working I was a bit late this year even getting pumpkins. I didn't grow any this year. I sometimes wonder if my kids are getting to old??? They carved them all by themselves this year, with just a little help getting the tops off from dad. They were really stubborn!
Jaden always comes up with some crazy design.

Ellie is really working hard on her pumpkin. She even cleaned out the inside all by herself this year. She was going for a star theme.

Jalyse working hard on hers. She always goes for a more traditional look on her pumpkin.

The finished pumpkins! I hope they will never get to old to carve pumpkins. It is always nice to have some traditions! Happy Halloween!

Dino Tracks

The last thing we did was go to a Dinosaur Tracks museum. It was a museum dedicated to the tracks of the Dinosaurs that they had found. A man was clearing off rock to put a highway through and a large rock fell out of the back of his truck and he discovered dinosaur tracks. The museum is built over that site. Kinda interesting. Just a warning, this place isn't that big and I think it was over priced, but I have a kid that his second job would be an archaeologist. He really want to see this.

This is the one skeleton that had in the place. They had a ton of tracks to see and a few the kids could touch. It was interesting to see how big they were!
This is my cute Ellie. She really was trying to show off for the camera! This is next to one that you could touch.

My cute Jalyse next to some trakcs

There were huge walls covered in prints. They also had a vast expanse of the floor covered in them. I dinosaur had gone for a walk. It was interesting to see.

If you love dinosaurs you have to go check it out. This is the only one thing we did that cost us any money. We had a great time looking at things for the past and swimming, eating at Texas Roadhouse! (thanks Jalyse for the free kids meals with your great grades!) and just hanging out as a family. Fall break was just what I needed! We had a blast! Thanks for being my family!

Is the Judge In??? County Courthouse

The old County Courthouse building is just in front of the museum. We had to walk through it. They have a jail in the basement, but it is to dangerous now for anyone to go look down there. That was the jail they had for years. Kinda interesting. Upstairs was the courthouse. They don;t use it anymore. The typewriter and everything they did use is still there. It was interesting to see. I had each of the kids pose as if they were the judge! So funny to see there faces! Love these kids!

Utah Daughters of the Pioneer Museum

We went to the Pioneer Museum. I was really trying to have a great experience with the kids with out spending much money :) To date, all the things we went and saw were FREE!!! I couldn't take any pictures in the musuem. I am guessing, since most of the stuff was so old, it might damage the items. This was a really interesting place and I recommend if you would like to learn more about the Pioneers to go visit.
I love my cute family. Off to the County Courthouse!

Brigham Young's House

This is Brigham Young's winter house in St George. I had never been here before. I love this house! This is just a side view. We were able to go on a tour around the grounds and in the house. It was really neat to see where the Profit lived. Once again the geek in my for the architecture!

This is the dinning room.
This is Brigham Young's room. He slept by himself, which I thought was interesting. His wives had their own rooms. He had a large sitting area and two tables.

This is his bed. I have to say I love this bed! It was such a grand looking bed.
My cute family on the side porch.

I don't know if you can read that or not, but that is an herb garden. Jaden and his friends say "dill" all the time. It is there little language. Jaden is pointing to the dill sign. Go Dill's!
See what I said about the cats? Here is another one. He was sure trying to get a bird. We just had to take a picture of him. He popped up out of nowhere! I think cats were watching over us on this trip!
Me and the kids
I had John go across the street and take a picture for me. It would be perfect if I could edit out the truck! It was such a neat experience to walk through this beautiful house. We really enjoyed our visit. Next up was the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum.

Historic Sites

After the Jacob Hamblin house we saw a few more sites in Santa Clara. This house was just right there on main street. I don't remember the names of the people who owned it,but it was just there, this little quaint house. It stood right next to the first Relief Society House. We really went on an old pioneer tour on this vacation. It is really amazing how much stuff is down south. Next up is Brigham Young's winter house. He sure had the right idea! Wintering in St George! I am all up for that one!

Jacob Hamblin House

We wanted to go to different places that we hadn't been to in St George, so we kinda went on a Mormon Pioneer trek of our own. We already went to Cove Fort and now we went to Santa Clara to visit the Jacob Hamblin Home.

This house was built up on a hill after the fort was destroyed by a flood. Jacob had numerous wives, I don't remember how many. The front is a parlor and then on either side is exact rooms for two of his wives. Come to find out, our former Gov Levitt, his relative was one of the wives...interesting.  This picture is one of the bedrooms the wives stayed in. Jacob was one that was put in charge of Indian relations, so he traveled a lot.

This is John and Jaden in the front parlor
We learned that the Indians respected him and he respected them. He didn't live here too long and was gone to another territory to help the Indians. I have to say it was really interesting to see how they made the houses back then and to see how people lived. Very interesting history lesson.

We just had to take a picture of this cat. He just showed up out of nowhere. I call him no tail. She the stub? This little guy was the first of our cat encounters. Everywhere we went, after the Hamblin house, there was a cat. Kinda strange?

This was outside the house. They had farmland and actually had cotton growing. It was interesting to see. We had a great trip exploring and we were off to see some more historic sites in town.
