One year check-up

TJ had his one year check-up last week.  He is doing really well.  He is now 28 3/4 inches tall and 20 lbs 15 oz  30th percentile for height and weight.  The Dr. said developmentally he is ahead of schedule.  He saw the bumps on his head and fat lip and I was telling the Dr. that he doesn't just walk he runs everywhere.  So the Dr started telling TJ that his legs are too short and his head too big to be running and while he was telling him this TJ figured out that the door to the exam room doesn't latch closed and figured out how to open it and went tearing out of the room and running down the hall wearing only his diaper.  Everyone out in the hall was laughing while I was chasing him.  After about 3 times I made Kiara stand in front of the door to guard it while I finished talking to the  Dr.

TJ sure is a silly kid and sure keeps us on our toes!

Here is a picture of him with a toy sword, he was chasing Delma around the house with it and both were screaming and laughing and having a ton of fun!

He threw his binkie and bottle of juice out the dog door then couldn't reach it.  Seriously this kid gets into everything, can't take your eye off him for a second!!  LOVE YOU TJ!!!  XOXOXO

TJ's First Birthday

I can't believe my baby is one year old already!  I know everybody says that but really, where did the time go?  For his birthday he got a big-boy haircut.  His hair grows so fast this is already his second haircut.  Jason cut it while I held him still.  He did pretty good if I held him so he could see himself in the mirror.

He is such a silly little guy.  He has a bit (ok a lot) of trouble sleeping lately (last several months) but even when he doesn't get a lot of sleep at night he is very good and happy during the day.  Here are a few things about TJ.

He can say "dada" (his favorite), "mama" and "caacaa" (for cracker)  when we say the word cracker he will repeat it and run for the pantry.  Although most of the time he ends up giving his cracker to the dog.  He has been walking actually running since he was 10 months old.  He stuffs everything he can find out the dog door.  That is where he throws his bottles when he is done with them.  Took us a couple days to figure out where they were disappearing to.  He loves to takes baths and will stick his whole face in the water over and over and laugh.  His favorite food is ice-cream and apples.  His best friend is a wiener dog.  He loves to play with his brothers and sisters.  If he can't eat it, throw it. or drive it he is not interested in it.  He is completely adorable and he NEVER holds still!!
showing off his new hair cut.
He got a fun little bumper car for his birthday.
He was pretty excited about all the silly noises it makes.
I had to help him get on it, he can almost ride it by himself.  But he is content to push it around for now.

This is from Aunt Laura and family.  It talks and sings and says his name.  He gets so excited when it says his name.  He loves this toy!

He got more stacking toys.  He loves to stack and throw them (out the dog door).

I made him a monkey cake.

He loves cake and ice cream.

Here he is enjoying cake from his birthday party last week at the Workman family birthday party.

Happy birthday TJ!! We love you, our family was not complete without you!!

Cousins

Here is a picture of all the cousins on Jason's side of the family.  I love how Brennen looks like a giant!  We just measured him and he is now 5'2".  He has grown 1 1/2 inches in the last 4 months.

My Delma Turns 4!

My sweet little Delma had another birthday and is now 4 years old!  She was so excited for her birthday.  The night before when I was tucking her into bed I told her that the next morning I wouldn't have a 3 yrd old anymore.  She looked at me with a very serious worried look then grinned because she realized it is because she will be a 4 yr old.

Her birthday was on a Saturday so we got to spend all day together as a family.  First she wanted daddy to make his famous chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and requested that her pancakes are shaped like a D.

After breakfast she opened a few presents.

Delma got Strawberry shortcake and her friends.

She also got a doctor kit.  She has been pretending to be a doctor lately and was thrilled to have the right equipment now.

Dr. Delma!

She gave us all check-ups to make sure we were all ok.

Her teddy bear from build a bear got scrubs from Travis and Becky so  she has a nurse.

We played for a while with Delma's new toys then it was time for lunch.  Delma requested going to chic-fil-a for lunch.  We went there for Kiara's bday and they sang to her and she thought that was so neat.  So we went to chic-fil-a and they didn't disappoint her.  They sang happy birthday gave her a balloon and an ice cream cone.

Delma picked out a scooter with her birthday money from grandma and grandpa Workman.  So after we let our lunch settle for a bit we wentt for a walk since it was such a beautiful day.

Here is Delma riding her new scooter with her balloon.

Next we had a birthday party for Delma and Tj.  This party was with Jason's side of the family.  We celebrated with my family the previous weekend.  Here are some pictures from both parties.

Delma requested a Strawberry Shortcake cake this year.

We sang happy birthday to Delma and TJ.

Delma enjoying her cake!

Happy birthday Delma!!Thanks everyone who celebrated Delma's bday with us.  She had a really great day.  Almost every day since she tells me how much she loves being four years old.  We love  Delma so much she is such a sweetheart and we are so happy she is part of our family.

Caught in the Act

Look what I caught these two silly girls doing! They were surprised that instead of getting mad I got out the camera and told them to do it again!

Look what I caught this silly boy doing...trying to stuff daddy's jacket out the dog door!

The little tune in this video plays on one of TJ's toys.  Whenever it comes on he twirls around in circles so Jason started singing this tune to see if he would do it.  It was pretty funny!

10 lb dog vs. 20 lb baby

TJ and Maggie are best buds!  They play fetch and tug of war all day long.  Maggie is so good with him.

Broken Thumb

Jason broke his thumb a few weeks ago playing church basketball.  He hyper-extended his thumb backward and the ligament pulled off a piece of the bone.  He knew it was hurt but didn't think it was broken.  He waited 3 weeks to go to the Dr.  during that time he was playing the piano 3-4 hrs a day!  His thumb was really sore and not getting better so he went to the Dr. and found out it was broken.  We thought he was going to have to have surgery but thank goodness the piece of bone that broke off is in the right place so he doesn't need surgery.  Just time.  He has to wear a cast for 6 weeks.  He has only been wearing it for 2 and is already really tired of it.  Poor Jason!  But, he needs to get it healed correctly so he can get back to playing the piano.  NO MORE MONKEY BALL!

Silly Dinner

I made a silly dinner for the kids a few months ago.  I realized I never put it in the blog.  They thought it was really good and had a lot of fun trying to figure out how I did it!
