Photo Session

Aunt Wendy drove all the way from Tennessee to do a photo session with Spencer this week. She is an excellent photographer--check her out at www.vizionphotography.com!!

We are so excited that she took the time to come to NC to visit us for the weekend and take pictures of Spencer. The pictures turned out great. Here are a few of our favorites. Enjoy!

Home Sweet Home!!!

After 20 very long days, we were finally able to bring Spencer home!!!

Going home outfit
All strapped in!!
We are so happy to have this little guy home with us. The past few weeks have been challenging, but we managed to make it through. We know many of you were praying for us and for Spencer and we are so grateful for that. We definitely have felt your love and prayers. We have also felt the great love of our Heavenly Father and Savior throughout this experience. We are so incredibly blessed.

We've had another special visitor with us for the past week--Jason's sister, Carrie, flew out to NC to help us out after Grandma and Grandpa Wardle went back home. It has been so great to have her here with us and to take care of the kids while Jason and I spend time with Spencer. We are so grateful for her and her willingness to come out here!!! She has spoiled the kids while she's been here-they've done all sorts of fun things. Thank you SO much, Aunt Carrie!!!

Disappointed :(

Today we were supposed to take Spencer home, but early this morning I received a phone call from one of the physician assistants in the NICU. During the night, one of the nurses apparently saw blood in Spencer's diaper. This is a red flag because it can indicate a very serious condition that babies can sometimes get in the NICU. The PA said they had already done all sorts of tests and so far everything was fine, but they would have to keep him there for at least another day to observe him.

I was devastated.

I got up this morning thinking this would be the last day we would have to go to the hospital. I was so excited to bring Spencer home. And then this happened. I just cried and cried.

We are with Spencer now and thankfully he seems to be fine so far. I am still terribly disappointed, but I know I would rather have him here for now just in case there is a problem. We are hoping and praying for a discharge tomorrow...
