Reading

I have a life long love of reading, always have, and I adore the Harry Potter books! Love them, somewhat obsessively. Yes, I was there at the midnight release of the last four books and read them all by the time the sun had come up the next morning. No need to comment, I know it's a bit excessive. Now as Ethan is becoming an awesome Kindergarten reader, I've decided to read him the series. So last week I started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to him, just one chapter a day, sometimes two when he begs. Lauren sticks around for it too, but her attention span is not that great. She usually whips out her Leapster and half listens while she plays her Disney Princess game.

Wait! Oh my gosh! I didn't realize what time it is. Happy Fourth Birthday Lauren!!!!!! Oh my gosh, my baby princess is officially 4 years old. Wow. Well, I'm prepared, cupcakes await all the eager little kiddos coming to my place at 1pm tomorrow. Chocolate with cherry frosting, and of course sprinkles.

(end of tangent)

So all I can say about the Potter series is that as fun as it was experiencing it for myself the first time, it's nothing to sharing it with my baby boy!

PS Lauren got the birthday song sung to her in church on Sunday and I missed it! I can't believe I missed it. From what I heard though she had the biggest smile possible on her face as they sang for her and then gave her the birthday pencil she's been coveting ever since becoming a Sunbeam.
PSS Ethan gave his 3rd talk in Primary. I'm so proud of him. I don't think anything can top how proud I was when he was a 3 year old Sunbeam and gave his very own talk all by himself, but still, he talks evenly and loudly enough to be heard well, and memorizes the whole thing, gives his testimony at the end and I believe he learns a lot from the subjects they give him. He talked on being a child of god. Grandma Ross, I bet you would get all teary watching him, I know I do.
