CHRISTMAS COOKIES

A couple pictures of the kids making the sugar cookies for Santa. They really loved it this year. I think they ate more than they actually made, but what the heck? Thanks Sarah for helping me supervise while I took pictures-

FIRST BIG SNOW OF THE SEASON

I am so behind in posting these pictures. We had a serious snow storm down here and got like 18 inches of snow. That's pretty darn good for blanding. The kids were so excited to go out and play in it. They made snow angels and threw snow balls and had a great time. I have more snow pictures to come soon. Sledding and making a snowman-. Hopefully I can get them posted soon.

STEVE'S PROJECT

I just wanted to post a picture of these chinks that Steve made for Karma's Christmas present this year. When we were over in Richfield for Thanksgiving, Nyle made the comment that she really wanted some of these, so all the kids chipped in and bought all the material and Steve went to work. They look really great and I was impressed that he did them so fast. I guess I was just used to all that time he spent on his saddle.......... good job babe, they look great!

ROSE FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY

We were going to take some family pictures out in the snow, but we didn't get them done when there was enough light and it was snowing. My mom and I were bummed, but another time. We snapped a couple inside. Not great but better than nothing right?

Trace giving Santa a hug.

And a smooch.........

Tayia showing us what she got from Santa. Even though she wouldn't go sit on his lap-

Trace and Santa. Sorry he is picking his nose, but it's the best one I got.

Kya wasn't too fond of him either-
Me and my sis-
I am a little behind on my blogging. Christmas time is always so busy. I'm hoping to catch up in the next couple of days. Toward the beginning of December we went up to my family Christmas party. My Dad and all of his brothers and sisters get together every year and celebrate. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to this party because it's the one time of year that I get to see all my aunts, uncles, and cousins on my dad's side of the family. We eat a great dinner and visit. All of my dad's siblings draw names and exchange gifts still. My dad made the suggestion that next year they go get names from the angel trees and get a gift for someone in need instead. They all thought it was a great idea. WAY TO GO DAD! What an amazing person you are to think of that. Then of course Santa comes. Now, I have to tell you that we have the BEST Santa ever. If you look in the pictures, you will see how genuine he really is. I mean, white hair, beard, glasses. It is SERIOUSLY the real thing. One of the funnest things about it? We have used the same Santa for years and years and years. Really. It's the same one that came to the family party when I was a little girl. I got some pictures of all the little kids looking out the window- waiting for him to come but they didn't turn out. Tay wouldn't have anything to do with him again, which didn't surprise me. But Trace walked right up and sat on his lap! I don't know what made him change his mind, but it was great. I think it was because he got to talk to Santa on the phone before the party. My mom calls the guy to make all the arrangements and Trace was just dying to talk to Santa on the phone. So, my mom gave him the phone and they had a great little chat. They talked for about 5 minutes. (This was a couple of weeks before the party) Needless to say, whatever it was worked. I was so dang happy. When Santa was leaving Trace had to give him a hug and smooch- I did get a couple pictures of it, but I wish they were better. It was adorable. He ran after Santa saying- "wait Santa, I have to give you a hug and smooch!" We had a ton of fun, and I enjoyed every minute of the party. It was great to be around family. After all, that is one of the most important parts of the Christmas season in my eyes.

A NIGHT FULL OF FUN!

Tayia and Kya wanted to dance along...........

my beautiful niece

Kade, Tayia, Treyden, and Trace playing with the old fashioned toys- They loved this stop!

my kids would not get anywhere close to Santa, but Trey loved him!

One of the cool light displays-

Kya and Tay LOVE each other!

A couple of weekends ago we were up in Salt Lake and wanted to do something fun and christmasy with the kids. We decided to go to THIS IS THE PLACE HERITAGE PARK. It was so dang much fun. They had lots of little houses that you walked through that had different things to do in them. We made tree ornaments, wrote letters to Santa, had hot apple cider, we helped put together some toy trains in Santa's workshop. There was a place that had lots of old time toys that the kids could play with. There was a "dance hall" where you were taught old time dances. Tyler and Patti were the only ones brave enough to join in on the fun. I was so dang proud of them. It looked like they had so much fun! They had a train that took you around the outside of the village to look at some awesome Christmas light displays, Santa Claus and some real reindeer, and my favorite- a live nativity out in a stable. It was amazing. Thanks Mom, Dad, Kaden, Tyler, Patti, Kya, Talon, Anna, and Trey for such a fun night. (Sarah, we missed you!) We had a great time!

THE PARK

I know this is a random post, but I have been meaning to post it for almost a month now. My kids love the park. During the summer we went to the park three or four times a week. I like to blog about stuff like this because it's one of the daily things we do. (when it's warm at least) It's one of the things I really enjoy doing with my kids. The last time we went to play at the park it was pretty cold. I decided to grab my camera on the way out the door because I had not taken any pictures of them at the park this past summer.

DECORATING THE TREE

Here are some pictures of decorating the tree. I have never been one to have a wonderfully decorated tree. I love my tree to be decorated with ornaments that have been made or given over the years. Kind of Hodge Podgy- (is that really a word?) We give the kids an ornament that reminds us of them every year. This year Tayia got a My Little Pony. Trace got a Tonka Dumptruck. We made cinnamon ornaments last year and the kids got a kick out of "tasting" them this year because they smelled so good. Good thing glue is non-toxic. Trace LOVED helping Steve put the tree in the stand. He made sure to go get his tools to make sure the tree was straight. He also fell in love with the baseball ornament that Steve and I got a couple of years ago when we went to a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball game. Sorry about the snotty noses, no underwear, and hat head- The kids were just too excited to clean up after we got home from getting the tree. They just wanted to decorate, so decorate we did.

THE PERFECT TREE!

This past weekend we went to get our Christmas Tree. Steve had been out at scout camp and had scoped out a couple good ones, so this year it didn't take twenty hours to pick one out. (Steve is a picky tree picker.) So we drove out and found a great tree. It's beautiful. Both of the kids loved it- Don't mind the toy gun in the picture with Tayia, we were also "elk hunting" The kids had to pack around the gun just in case we happened to run across one. I'm not sure if you can see the little cactus in the picture with all three of them- but just a couple of minutes after I took that picture, Trace tripped and fell into the cactus. He had it all over his hands and a couple even went through his pants and into his leg. Poor little thing. He was trying to be so brave but just could not hold back the tears. We had to sit there and pull all of them out. After the trauma was over, we headed home to eat dinner and decorate. That will be the next post-
