Deb Fung & Alarice album covers

here is her bio from her web:
Coming from a commerce/law background, having grown up in Melbourne Australia, at 23 years of age Deb took the plunge in pursuing her passions for this career of music full time.
No stranger to performance, Deb was singing and playing before audiences from the age of 8, has enjoyed the throes and woes of playing in orchestras, singing in choirs and performing in musicals all through her high school years.
With her roots in Gospel songwriting, Deb has gone on to perform commercially throughout Australasia in festivals, clubs, conferences and cafes as well as her international tours throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Based in Sydney, Deb has now released her third album "WHOEVER YOU ARE”, featuring some of Australia's leading musicians such as drummer Damian Rogers (Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Christine Anu) and guitarist Mark Cullen (Parachute Band, Darlene Zschech).
With her eyes focused primarily on Australia and Asia in the release of her album, Deb wishes to connect her music with her annual visits to China where she is involved with Aids and HIV prevention work.
Just as her new song entitled “Do So Much” urges her listeners to be proactive in their ability to respond to injustice and instigate change and positive impact, Deb’s underlying goal in her music is to stretch people in their own capacity and their own perception.
"Surrender" - another favourite of mine. She encourages those who are battling with darkness, that we are not alone. God knows.
'pain or pride/ this thorn piercing my side/how long to remember/the art of surrender'

I still have no idea what "EP" means...
Away is definitely 1 of my favourite tracks. It was written during her examination.
Singing about how 'i feel a little heavy inside, let's escape to a new place' .
Away to a place where she can 'feel the waves crash beneath my feet, and the sand between my toes".
What a nice escape......

Day out at KLCC - IP MAN Movie

Due to the power cut ( 8am - 5.45pm) yesterday, I knew I'll go crazy staying if I'd stay at home! So I decided to spend the whole day at KLCC.
I was pondering on which movies to watch.... Bolt, Chihuahua & Yes man were in consideration, but I eventually went with the latest kung fu show starring Donnie Yen.

Here are some pics and you can catch the trailer below.

Ip Man/Yip Man Official Trailer

Synopsis:
In the 1930s, Foshan thrives as the hub of Chinese wushu, with various sects actively recruiting disciples. They often compete against each other to prove their strengths.

While Yip Man is an accomplished martial artist, he is unassuming and keeps a low-profile, and doesn't run any martial arts school nor accept students. He only stays at home, quietly sparring with his compatriots in friendly competitions, swapping pointers with each other.

One day, Yip Man (Donnie Yen) is challenged by Master Liao (Chen Zhi Hui), who just set up a wushu school, in a closed match. Yip Man's buddy Martial Zealot Lin (Xing Yu), who witnessed the entire fight, tells everyone about Master Liu losing. Seeing it as a public humiliation, Master Liao gets into disputes with Yip Man.

Henchmen of Jin Shan Zhao (Fan Siu Wong) are going around challenging various wushu schools in Foshan. In one fight, Martial Zealot Lin is mortally wounded. Yip Man comes to his rescue, only to be stopped by Jin Shan Zhao. Everyone gathers around to watch the match whereby Ip Man dispenses the latter with ease using four Wing Chun Forms: fist, footwork, blade and cudgel.

Ip Man becomes an instant hero and there develops a craze for Wing Chun in Foshan.

Following Japanese invasion in 1937, everyone's life is adversely affected. Yip Man's property is confiscated and his family is forced to live in a decrepit house. Being one with strong pride, Ip Man refuses charity from his wealthy friend Zhou Qing Quan (Simon Yam), owner of a cotton mill, opting instead to work as a coolie at a coal mine to sustain his family.

One day, General Miura (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), together with his troops, arrives. As a fanatical practitioner in martial arts himself, he sets up an arena, offering rice as a reward. However, to another high-ranking Japanese officer Sato's (Shibuya Tenma) mind, they cannot afford to lose, they must preserve Japanese superiority and dignity.

Eagerly taking up the challenge, Martial Zealot Lin makes use of the opportunity to demean the Japanese...

Currently Reading

Barack Obama's meteoric rise from Hawaii high schooler to exemplary Harvard Law School student to well-groomed politico is the stuff of legend, a political story that has captured the attention of virtually every American. Since his headline-grabbing speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, Obama has come to represent the promise of unity among groups of all types—blacks and whites; Democrats, Republicans, and moderates; the young and the old; the upper, middle, and lower classes. In this first-of-a-kind, groundbreaking biography, veteran journalist and Obama chronicler David Mendell gives an in-depth, comprehensive portrait of the boy named Barry who took inspiration from his hardworking parents and became the eloquent, suave Obama—a man whose last name has become a catchphrase for hope in a politically jaded society desperate for a new star.

Mendell has covered Obama since the beginning of Obama's campaign for the Senate and as a result enjoys far-reaching access to the new senator. His research includes exclusive interviews with Obama's closest aides, mentors, political adversaries, and family—most notably his extremely charismatic wife, Michelle. Mendell reveals the surprising, cutthroat campaign tactics sanctioned by Obama—who has steeped his image and reputation with the ideals of clean politics and good government—to win his Senate seat by employing some of the most ruthless operatives in the business.

Eye-opening, well researched, and compulsively readable, Obama: From Promise to Power is a necessary look at the evolution of a politician from public servant to candidate-savior—a politician who has experienced fame, adulation, and criticism in equal parts and on a greater scale than the public eye has seen in quite some time.

someone borrowed my dad this book, but he's too lazy to read it, so l decided to read. Turns out to be quite interesting.
stoped at this part where Omaba was quote saying :
" Let us transform this nation. It was here we learned to disagree without being disagreeable - that its possible to compromise long as you know those principles that can never be compromise ; and that so long as we're willing to listen to each other, we can assume the best in people insteadof the worst..."

He tells us that there is power in words.
He tells us that there is power in conviction, that beneath all the differences if race and region, faith and station, we are one people.
He tells us that there is power in hope.

Leona Lewis - 'Run'

Well I heard this for the first time and I was blown away. Snow Patrols is a brilliant song and yes you have to appreciate the lyrics etc.... But Leona has made it into a heartfelt anthem. Its just beautiful and her voice is amazing.

The Last Day Of School - Hari Mohon Restu

Today has been a bittersweet moment. Being able to see everyone's face (after gawd knows how long), for the last time before the dreaded STPM.
While the students were all lining up to greet the teachers, I couldnt help but be irritated by certain malay lady teachers that refuse to shake the student's hand because of their oh-so-suci-ness (rolls eyes).
Each student( upper 6's & form 5's) were given a gift (pen, pencil, rubber).
Before you knew, everyone started bawling like it's the end of the world.....
Among the line of teachers was our dear accounts teacher, Pn.Rosna, I notice that her eyes were already red. When it came to my turn, she suddenly burst into tears after shaking my hand.....
I thought, oh dear, now I'm gonna cry pulak. But becaused so many of the guys ended up in tears, I tak jadi ady. Think they cried on my behalf.
What really surprise me was that Pn.Rosna took the effort to prepare some nota pendek for all 10 of us. And her message at the end there was really encouraging.
..........................................................................
I dont know what made me went back to 2 extra years of school. There may have been regrets in the past, but I have only the future to look forward to, and the present is what determine the outcome.
If I were to look back on these two years, I wouldnt call it a waste. I think it's definately one of those winding roads I am required to travel.
............................................................................
Stpm is 11 days away
Less than a month before it all comes to an end
Going through the next few weeks it's definately going to be challenging.
p/s*best of luck to those sitting for exams*

JENNIFER HUDSON’S NEPHEW FOUND DEAD…

CNN has just reported that a white SUV has been found with a child’s body in it. Confirmation is currently being sought by medical examiners to determine if the child is in fact Julian King, nephew of Jennifer Hudson.
But the car matches the Amber alert description and there is a young boy dead inside that EXACTLY matches Julian’s description. Officials from the Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the scene at 1313 S. Kolin Ave. (14 miles from the Hudson family home and only 5 blocks from where suspect William Balfour was found) after receiving a report of a black male child being found in a SUV.
The SUV fits the exact description and exact license plate number. Several news networks are now reporting that the body is in deed Julian King.

I can’t even imagine what Jen must be going through right now. Her whole entire family wiped out like that. And the heartbreaking thing about it is that an innocent 7-year-old baby was targeted.
Jen losing her mother, brother and nephew in a space of 72 hours is just….words can’t describe it.
She is going to need a strong support system AND this is also a testing time for Jen’s fiance David because his support system has to be amazing.

The sad thing about it is that if Jen was there, or even the sister, they proabaly would have been taken out as well. Obviously, whoever did this had no regard for life otherwise they would not have punished the little boy and condemn him to death.

UPDATE: FBI officials have confirmed in a press conference not too long ago that the body found this morning on Chicago’s West Side is in fact Julian King. Reportedly, he was shot multiple times with a gun wound to the head.

Jennifer Hudson's Mother and Brother Shot to Death

A nightmare for this Dreamgirl.

Sources confirm to E! News that Jennifer Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, was found dead Friday afternoon in a house on the South Side of Chicago that is listed in Donerson's name.

Officer John Mirabelli of the Chicago Police Department tells E! that officers were called to a house in the 7000 block of Yale Avenue in the neighborhood of Englewood, where just before 3 p.m. they discovered two unresponsive adults—one male, one female—who had apparently been shot to death.

A family member entering the house Friday afternoon found the body of Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, shot on the living room floor. Responding officers later found her 29-year-old brother Jason Hudson shot in the bedroom, police said.
At least one of the victims suffered defensive wounds, said authorities who described the shooting as domestic violence.

A 7-year-old boy named Julian King has also been reported missing, but authorities aren't confirming whether he's a relative of Jennifer Hudson.

This news comes as a shock to the whole world at the moment where Hudson's career is just beginning to bloom.. condolences to J.Hud & Family..

Introducing Baby Chloe

A new born child has just been added into the big family tree. Yey!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think she came out earlier than expected... Wasn't it?
That's what I heard anyway....
When I found out that her name was Chloe, (I don't know why but..) I was really excited!
The name just rings a bell somewhere.... I can't really put a finger on which particular event of the past but, I don't know... I'm really glad they pick that name.

Awwwwww, isn't she adorable?

"Babies are Angels that fly to the earth,
their wings disappear at the time of their birth

one look in their eyes and we're never the same
They're part of us now and that part has a name
That part is your heart and a bond that won't sever
Babies are Angels, we love them forever. "
