The Storm Warriors theme song( by Aaron Kwok)

Storm Brewing

The storm is finally here. Main leads Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok were in KL last week to promote their long awaited movie. The movie centre on the 2 main characters - Wind (Fung) and Cloud (Wan) in their attempt to bring down the Japanese warlord Lord Godless. Unfortunately, Wind's decision to absorb an ancient demonic power results in a final battle with Cloud.

Now you'd think that since it took them 11 freaking years for this preparation, the audience would be treated with a good movie to enjoy. But no, sadly this movie fails to live up to the hype in every sense possible.
To me, it felt like watching a long winded video game substitute with real actors. They had good actors but the plot sucked so badly I have no words for it.
Be warn though, it'd be the 110 minutes of your life you would never get back, should you choose to watch this film.
But having said that, go satisfy your curiosity if you've dying to watch it.
In the mean time, check out the music video for the movie's theme song.

Currently Listening to...

Susan Boyle has a lot to smile about. Her debut album has officially broken the record for the highest first week sales in the UK chart history (beating Leona's previous record).

Diary's Quickie (updated)

1. I finally had my fair share of New Moon mania today. Vampires are such an "in" thing today huh? I have a friend who is totally obsessed with the supernatural and what not. 2. I support team Jacob!
Hehehehehe =p I tend to favour the underdog characters. Besides, I feel sorry for the character. Since Bella and Edward gets hooked up and pop a baby at the end of the story.
Oops, sorry for the spoiler.
The crowd were so disappointed when the movie reached it's climax... The proposal.

I was slightly irritated by Bella (the character, not the actor) maybe because we have certain similarities.
We are anti-social individuals
Rather lock ourselves in the room than go out
Super awkward around people
Suck at making friends; loner... (boy, do I excel in that category *sigh*)

3. Wednesday is gonna be movies-day-out for this whole month at least. I have four weeks to kill.

4. I predict that tonight is going to be another sleepless night. Believe it or not, a mother rat has given birth in my freaking room!
That is disgusting!!!!!!!!!! Ewwwwwwww
What annoys me is constant cries from those slimy hairless creatures. Yuck! (Yea, you can say that again.) Parents, do something!

5. Next movie - The Storm Warriors. *smiles*

Memories of a Hong Kong Tourist : Day 3 & 4 ( The Disneyland Experience )

A tourist's vacation will not be complete without paying a visit to HK's Disneyland. Kids will have the time of their lives and the grown ups are able to release their inner child without having to feel embarrassed.

There, you could easily spot people of all ages. From babies to elderly hunchbacks.

As we start walking in, we were greeted by this beautiful Mickey fountain.

This isn't even inside Disneyland, and people are already snapping away.

There is this 1 rule (there are quite a few actually), a person is only allowed to bring 1 bottle of water. Food is not allowed.

These locals really know how to force people to buy their stuff. A small bottle of water would cost HK$12! If that doesn't make your jaw drop, wait til' you hear about the meals they sell there.

At the end of Main Street USA is the gorgeous Sleeping Beauty castle.

Just in case if you're wondering... Nope we are only able to pass through the castle, not enter it.

As we venture into Adventureland, Tarzan's tree house caught my eye.

We broad a raft across to the tree house.

Although we have a 3-D over in Times Square, I've never got the chance to watch it.

Fortunately, there was a 3-D animation called "The Golden Mickeys"; a 30 minute long storybook theater.

I enjoyed it a lot actually. It has snippets from various Disney cartoons like The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin (just to name a few).

I notice a couple of adults sitting beside me trying to reach out to the images. Hahahaha =p

One of the more interesting offering Disneyland had was the Lion King Musical. More accurately known as "Festival of the Lion King". This stage show definitely attracted a huge crowd.
Memorable songs were not missed. Circle of Life, I Just Can't Wait To Be King, Hakunamatata, (and so many more) brought back memories. It was so alive! And I loved every single bit of it.
=)

This character was acting as the mean and wicked Scar.

Simba and the human Simba =p

Kids will simply have a blast at Tomorrowland. Most of the games and rides here were rather childish. (At least more me lah.)
Remember Toy Story? Hehehe

As we were exiting, 4 carolers were singing Christmas carols. I liked the cute chick on the far right. She was really good. They should have sang with microphones. It was hard to hear especially when the strong wind was drowning their lower notes.

I couldn't resist not cam whoring together with the gigantic Christmas tree.
I think I deleted the night version of myself with the tree. Hish...

Beautiful lights
''dISNEY IN THE sTARs" Fireworks is one of the highlights that every tourist look forward to enjoy. Your Disneyland experience wouldn't be completed without being amazed by the spectacular fireworks show.
I'm not trying to look cool or anything... The icy wind was cutting into my skin and my lips were cracking. Literally! Painful.
The fireworks officially started at 9pm. People were busy snapping away; myself included =p

Simply stunning! Yall can check out the rest of the pictures in my facebook account. (Which I'm sure some already did. Hehe)

We stayed inside Disneyland. Although it is "inside", it's a 10-15 minutes drive from the theme park to the hotel.

On our last and final day in HK, we managed to visit DISNEYLAND for the last time.
I was determined to get my picture taken together with the famous Disney characters.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get to the Mickeys. The line was extremely long. I waited for 30 minutes and it hardly moved. So I decided that a zoom in shot of them would be sufficient.
If only I had more time. Too bad cause we had to be at the airport by noon.
Well, the others weren't too bad. I feel so short standing next to Goofy.

Together with Donald Duck and the Chipmunks. =)

All in all, I had the time of my life in Disneyland. It proved to be an unforgettable experience.

On my way back to Malaysia, I watched ''Julie & Julia" for the second time!
Fav Quote : You're the butter to my bread =)

As I peep out the window, the brilliant sky was filled with motionless white clouds...

..."fleecy as sheep

but so obedient and lazy"

The End.

Memories of a Hong Kong Tourist : Day 1 & 2

Exactly 7 days ago, I was on my way to Hong Kong. I was (sort of) expecting HK to be similar to China, but the country soon proved me wrong. It was a 3.5 hour flight. From here to there.

The money exchange rate was HK$100 = RM44.60 (it is more or less between $44.20-44.80)

Their mother tongue happens to be cantonese where as the majority people in China tend to speak mandarin.
Prior to that, I knew that I wanted to watch as least 1 movie. 2, if it was possible. Imagine my delight when "500 Days of Summer" was available. Me & my friends were looking forward to that movie, but unfortunately we were a day late and was no longer screening.
Instead we settle for ''The Time Traveller's Wife".

One thing that makes this movie stand out is that, this isn't your typical Hollywood movie. Although the story revolves around the topic of love, I like how it's portrayed so artistically. Having said that, this would not be everyone's cup of tea.

The 2 main characters doesn't end up together. (There goes a happy-ever-after ending.)
The lady that doesn't believe in relationships ends up getting married shortly after breaking up.
The dude who love's love ends up getting hurt so badly that he begins to despise love.

And they say relationships and love take loads of work.

I almost jump for joy when I saw that "Julie & Julia" was on the list, except for the fact that I was stuck unto the airplane sit.

Because of the limited amount of time left, I had to fast forward. A lot.

It doesn't matter if you're a fan of the amazing Meryl Streep or you simply like food; go watch it when it hits our local cinema's !!!

Meryl's character is believable and funny. She does the usual ooh's and aah's. It's hilarious.

By the time we arrived at the Hong Kong airport, it was already 10 something. Another good factor about Hong Kong vacation is that there aren't any time difference between HK and Malaysia. Therefore, Malaysian's won't get confused.
In terms of population, HK is slightly overpopulated. Their numbers are big but the land that they have is limited and isn't enough.

The whole arrival process was a drag. By the time we arrived at the door step of our hotel room door it was past midnight. We stayed at MetroPak Hotel for two nights.

The first day, we followed the tour. There were a family of 9 (relatives, including 2 families, and 4 very noisy children), an elderly couple who happen to be living at Jelatek (small world huh) together with his sister and her daughter, a lesbo couple (think Ellen DeGeneres) and yours truly.

My first impression of HK when I step unto it's soil is the evident similarities this country has with Malaysia. More specifically KL.
One thing tourist should be aware of these HK folks is that they just as unfriendly as China people (if not more). I'll explain later.

After having dim sum for breakfast, the driver & the tour guide brought us to this beach where elderly man are still as fit as people in their 20s. They regard health as their top priority.
The air here was so fresh! Seriously. The fact that this place is situated next to the beach and mountains to contribute to the clean air.
It already so cold in the early morning , yet I could spot some dude and other elderly people in their swimming trunk going for a swim!!! They're locals so of course they're use to freezing to death.
The birds here are so fat that I'd recommend they take a diet. =p

Ocean Park is basically a sibling to our Genting Highlands. Only bigger and better.
It was a waste of money cause we only got to spend 2 hours there. Cheated!
I'd advised anyone potentially going there to think twice before doing so. Yet and unless you're about to spend the whole day there, take a rain check.
Save your hundreds and go some place else.
The only highlight to Ocean Park is the dolphin performance. This show attracted the largest audience.

Day 2 was more relaxing and less tiring since we could travel at our own pace and not rush.
We took the free-and-easy package.

We took a shuttle bus from our hotel to Tsim Sha Tsui. I wanted to walked around the city there but my parents weren't interested. Why travel if you're not going to take advantage of the opportunity?
The fact about HK is that the drivers in HK don't drive, they speed.
And this happens to be a norm there.
Malaysian drivers there would get honk like nobody business.
No doubt the HK drivers would received endless samans from our local authorities if they come here.

This poor butterfly was being blown left and right by the vicious wind. This fragile creature couldn't even flap it wings to take flight.

It was approaching lunch hour and we headed back to our hotel and took another shuttle bus to Mongkok Street.
Mongkok Street is actually about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel we were staying in.
I actually got lost in this very streets when I foolishly decided to explore this streets by myself the night before.
Like literally lost!
I was keeping track of the shops I pass by. Everywhere I went, something caught my attention. After some while, I've totally lost track of location. But I shrugged off and thought that I could easily find my way back easily. How naive of me!
Although Mongkok Street is slightly bigger than Taman Melawati, but that place has about eight to nine 7/11 shops! Don't ask me why. I'm just as confused as anyone would be.
There were easily 20 shops that sell shoes and sports wear, but the stuff they sell there are so freaking expensive, I ended up converting everything down to the last cent.
Well, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit.
The cheapest pair of shoe would cost at least HK$299.
The stuff here are sold at such a ridiculous price, even an average meal would range from HK$19-22. A set meal for a single person would cost HK$42-45.
There is nothing cheap about HK. Sad to say. Although their fashion here are pretty advance. Their clothing's (and other stuff) arrived at their shores at least 1-2 months earlier than Malaysia.
Anyway, back to the night when I got lost.
I ended up circling the ladies market 3 times! Haih...
I happen to walk by this watch stall, where this American dude decided to not purchase the silver watch he requested and the old lady replied : teng lei ge fai!!!
My gosh! Imagine that venomous tougue of that old lady. If she can utter curses so freely, I wouldn't want to imagine what the aggressive ones would say, or do.
Good thing he didn't understood what was being uttered.
After walking a few rounds, the panic started to kick in. I was starting to have the omg breakdown.
Not far way I saw an American lady who must be lost as well cause she was in tears. I wanted to approached her, but decided against that. I already lost. What help could I possibly offer to her? I'd probably cry together with her.
I started to feel rain drops. It was getting heavier and I thought, screw it! I'll just go grab a taxi.
The meter hits HK$18 the second you enter the car.
Goodness gracious me. Bless my button boots!
Lesson Learned.
Fast forward to the following night. We came back to the exact same spot at Tsim Sha Tsui to watch some lazer thingy that I don't even completely understand after watching it.

The strong wind was blowing harder than ever. The sea waves were nasty. It was dark.
Yet, you can spot shirtless people jogging.
Someone should sent them to the north pole. They can go swim with the polar bears and jog in the snow. Hahaha =p
The lazer lights started at 8pm.
The whole thing turn out to be rather =.='
Lame with a capital "L"
I mean the buildings were just flashing around with some lights. On and off again. =.='
After dinner I felt pregnant.
