Forgive me my friends for promising to update this blog more often and not living up to that promise :(. That is why I am here now to do just that. Many wonderful things have happened the past oh month and a half! So let the updating begin....
I completed my student teaching on December 3rd, which also just so happened to be my birthday! Happy Birthday to me! I was so excited to be so close to graduation that I could taste it! It was a bittersweet day however because it was hard to leave my students, especially my middle schoolers. But I know I will go back to see them sometime soon. The weekend of my birthday was spent practicing for my final jury! Which I had on December 7th. Lets just say it was pretty awesome! I am very happy with that performance! I had my final meeting with my supervisors for Student teaching, just to make sure I had all the paper work I needed. And then I was free. I had to go back to Blythewood for rehearsals for the concert that was December 14th but other than that I could sleep in for the first time in months (even though that actually never happened!). Then finally the day came, Monday December 13, 2010, my graduation day! Man was it awesome! Family and friends of ours made the trip from Myrtle Beach to watch me walk across the stage. My mentor even made it! The ceremony was very boring but when it was finally my turn to walk across the stage it was awesome! The walk back to my seat was a very powerful walk. It seemed to all be over to fast however. All the hard work, blood, sweat and tears put into my degree was over in a flash. But it was fun none the less.
This is one of the only pictures taken at the Colonial Center due to the fact that it was so freaking crowded! It was hard to even breath let alone move to take a pictures! But it is one of my favorite pictures taken that day! My mom and dad were so proud, dad even teared up a little!
This picture was taken when we got home from graduation! I think it is the only picture that shows how truly happy I was that day! So I am now a Graduate of the University of South Carolina! Though honestly it hasn't really sunk in yet that I'm done with school! I'm sure it will when everyone goes back and I don't have to. Weird!!
Christmas also happened which was awesome! My grandparents came up from Florida and my Aunt and Cousin came down from North Carolina to celebrate with my family! Adam and I headed up to the beach and had an enjoyable time. Here are a few pictures to recap Christmas:
Cookies that Adam, John and I decorated!
Mine and Adam's Christmas tree complete with presents!
My parents Christmas tree on Christmas Morning
Happy Adam, got two games he had been waiting for!
The Prack (Adam's parents) home when it snowed on December 26th. Dad Prack turned the lights on too
The Prack Home at night complete with over 14,000 LED lights!
The DeHollander home complete with lights and a fully lit Christmas tree on the front lawn unfortunately not pictured here :(
And with that I am done updating for the day! More to come soon on little Baby Prack ;)
We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Baby Prack
We have wonderful and exciting news! We are going to be parents! We found out about a month ago that I am pregnant! The day we found out I cried and Adam had a huge smile on his face! This is something that I have been praying for, for many months. I have been praying about when the time was right and how we were going to take care of a tiny human. Through all my praying, I learned that patience is something learned not given right away, and I learned that the Lord's plan is what will happen regardless.
Any ways we told my parents first and they are so excited! My dad I swear cried when I first told him. He is so excited about being a grandfather! This child will be the first grandchild on my side and the fourth on Adam's. So his parents are excited, yes but mine are super excited about the first little one to come along! We then told Adam's parents and his mom did cry as a huge smile came to her face! It was awesome! We then proceeded to tell our siblings who were also excited to hear the news! It was so much fun to tell them. It was even more fun later on telling our extended families and now our friends.
I am happy to report that so far everything has been pretty easy. The extent of my morning sickness has been a little nausea most mornings that lead me to eating salty foods but that was it. Which since I am student teaching has been a blessing. Nausea I can handle because most of the time I forgot about it as the day went on due to teaching all day.
We went to the doctor last Wednesday and actually got to see the little one! It was so cool! The baby was kinda laying on his/her (sorry it's sound horrible) side just relaxing. Then as we were watching it, it rolled over and stretched out and kinda waved at us! It was so awesome, I started to cry. It is odd because though I've known for a while that I am pregnant, it wasn't real until that moment. For days prior, I had nightmares that when I got to the ultrasound, the doctors would look and nothing would be there. Early pregnancy is so hard because other than the changes happening to your body, there is no sign of a little baby growing inside you. So the moment I saw my little one stretch, it was finally real. Adam was there for the ultrasound and he never stopped smiling once! He is a proud dad already! Here are some pictures of the baby:
This one includes the baby's heart beat which was nice and strong holding out at 160 bmp!
When the ultrasound tech was measuring the heart beat, she pointed out the heart and you could really see it pounding away! Very cool! She also pointed out the baby's brain and facial bones. I am very excited about being a mom! Can you tell?
We also found out that day that my due date is May 29th, 2011! This is the day after my grandfathers birthday, and he would be thrilled if this little baby came on his birthday! :-D We have already begun to toss around names and have a few that we like, but will discuss those at a later date ;)!
Thank you to all of you who have already congratulated us as well as offered your love and support in this time of change and new beginnings! We are very very excited about being parents!

Wow, time flies
Man, I can't believe that I haven't updated this since May! Shame on me!! I think I have good reasons though, but from now on out I will try and do better!
So for the past 3 months or so, I have been working on finishing up my degree by student teaching. I am currently student teaching at E.L.Wright Middle School and Blythewood High School. Both have been great places to work at and the directors are great people who I have learned a lot from already! I have enjoyed the experience but it is very time consuming (and teaching will be to so I better get used to it!) and somewhat stressful. The thing about teaching is that unlike most things that need improvement such as playing an instrument or sport, you practice on your own and day by day you see improvement. Teaching is a much longer process to grasp and really to get better at. And really you can't practice by yourself, nope you have stand in front students everyday and "practice" the craft of teaching (which I've heard that you can't really master because it there is always something to change or do different). So many days in the beginning of this semester, I got frustrated because I felt like I was doing the same things, knowing how to fix it but not really understanding how to put all my knowledge into practice! UGH that is so frustrating!! Thankfully my cooperating teacher is very encouraging and helpful in many ways!
Many people who are doing the same degree track that I am, plan to student teach in the spring. Well I didn't really plan on teaching in the fall, it is really just how it worked out best for me so yeah. Marching band has been stressful and honestly exhausting. It feels like a constant marathon that just never seems to end! I really enjoy marching band however and have enjoyed working with this bunch of kids. It is hard to teach in a high school setting during marching band season because there is so much already going on and its hard to actually get time to be in front of the kids. I completely understand this however and am excited about marching band being over soon so that we all can get a little break and a change in setting! I am completely and utterly enjoying my time at the middle school however and I am having a great experience there! I get to teach daily and I feel like the kids are finally getting used to me and me them! We just started Jazz Band at the middle school and man that is fun! This is a select group of students who auditioned and really just want to be there! So we get more done in a shorter amount of time! Our first rehearsal was this past week and it was a lot of fun! I am really enjoying student teaching at both the middle and the high schools and I am really excited about the rest of the semester!
Adam is still working hard at Shoe Carnival and doing some assistant ship work with a guy from CA. Recently however he got a possible job offer to be apart of a small (very small) independent gaming company that is just starting up for composition. We are hoping that it all pans out and works out ok. That would really help!
Our puppers are as happy as ever! Grace is always trying to play ball with us (even first thing in the morning) and she has come out of her shell a lot more the past few months. Yoshi is less of a monster these days, and more of a sweet cuddling, kissing dog who loves life. We love our little family

The Past Few Weeks
Well, the last couple of weeks have been busy. Tia, Adam's sister and her son where here for a few days last week. We went to the Riverbanks Zoo with them and though the Kangaroo exhibit sadly was not full of Kangaroos (I was really disappointed), the trip was still a success. Will (our nephew) really loved the chickens, they were the only animals that he really paid any attention to! My favorite part was feeding the Giraffe (since I've sadly never done it) and the Penguins! If I could own a Penguin and keep it in my bath tube, I totally would! Though I think Adam would notice ;)
Aside from company, and Adam working all the time, all I've done is job search and I got to go to Myrtle Beach for a few days. My job search is going poorly since it seems Columbia is just a hole. Myrtle Beach at least has tourist traps that are fun to work at but here in Columbia, I mean really who wants to come to Columbia. As I have heard it referred to lately, Columbia is a concrete frying pan in the summer (thanks Brother Bailey). Myrtle Beach was great though! I got to see my niece Heidi and my nephew Will along with the rest of the family of course! :-D Heidi is just a month old so she is still in the sleeping and pooping stage but she is so cute and fun to just hold and look at! I also got to see my family and enjoyed a nice horseback ride with my mom on Friday. Now that I am married and live away from my family, going and visiting means so much more and it never seems like I stay long enough. It was nice just to relax with the families and catch up on whats going on. It was hard not to be there with my hubby though. So even if it wasn't a long stay it was still really nice to come home to my Adam and hear about work and the weird things people did while I was gone.
Hopefully the job front will look up on me soon! But until then I have some crafty projects in mind. I am hoping to get my moms sewing machine soon :-) and the possibilities become endless once I figure that out! I'm excited! Welp thats all for now. Until next time here are a few pictures of our recent adventures....
Giraffe feeding experience.
The giraffe kept sticking her tongue out at us so he decided to stick his tongue out at her too!
Probably my favorite picture of the day! This is me and Will my nephew!

We have a Graduate
On Saturday May 8th, 2010 my husband Adam graduated from the University of South Carolina with his BM in Music Composition. His whole family traveled from Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Charleston to see him walk across the stage. He was so cute! Since the color of the tassel depends on your major and being a music major his tassel was bright pink. I made fun of him but it was really cute too. He said he was proud of it.
His family all arrived around 11-12ish and we headed out for lunch. Though because of it being Saturday in Columbia, everyone and their mother were out and eating at the exact restaurants that we wanted to go to. Figures. So we ended up with lunch at sonic, it was quick and easy so useful. We then headed to the Colonial Life Arena (the largest college arena in the state :-P ). The remainder of Adam's family arrived and we all found seats and settled in for what we thought would be a long ceremony. About an hour and a half later we were congratulating all the graduates and snapping pictures with our own graduate. I think Adam had the biggest smile on his face that I've seen since our wedding!! After all the hard work that he has put in the past four years especially this past semester he was so glad to finally be done. When we finally left the Arena we headed back to our apartment and hung out with all the family. We haven't seen them in a while so it was nice to hear about their doings. We also met our niece on Saturday who was born two short weeks before. She is beautiful! It was really cute to see my husband in his cap and gown cradle little Heidi. Our nephew Will also attended. He is one and looks giant compared to Heidi. Adam got a picture with both the little ones and I think it is my favorite picture of the day.
Now when Adam gets home from work, he freaks out for a moment trying to figure out what he has to do for school and what homework is due but then he realizes with a smile that hes done. He then promptly reminds me that he is so glad to be done. I can't wait to be done! I'm so jealous :-D. But I am very proud of my Adam, he has accomplished so much!

We are the Pracks
So, I decided the other day that we should give this blog thing a try. In talking to my husband he reluctantly agreed to my request. So here we are.
My husband Adam, is quite the character to say the least. He is a composer hoping to write music for Video Games and one day write music for Hollywood. I may be biased but he is pretty stinking good too! :) He is currently working at Shoe Carnival (which is currently running a buy one get one sale!). He is my honey and keeps me happy!
I am Meghan and can be kinda silly too! I am currently a Music Education Major at USC. I am pursuing an education degree so that I can teach band. I haven't decided what age yet but I keep leaning toward middle school. I will be student teaching in the fall and I am so excited!! Right now I am looking for a job and being a house wife and mommy to our puppies.
We were married on July 17, 2009 in the Columbia Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We were very lucky to have a beautiful ring exchange in front of my parents home in Myrtle Beach which was followed by an awesome reception if I do say so myself! ;) We traveled to Gatlinburg, TN for our honeymoon where we enjoyed the beautiful mountain side and Dollywood! We have been together since 2006.
We have two puppies! Yoshi (the white one) who is our little monster but we love him. He is a corgi mix that loves to sun bathe and protect his mommy. Grace (the tan one) is our sweet girl who loves to play ball or tug. Her favorite pastime is lounging on the couch. They keep us busy but are great to come home to after a long day of work or school.
