IT'S A......

We had our 20 week Doctors appointment  yesterday (Wednesday Jan. 12). This is the special appointment where you get to have an ultrasound and see your baby again. And if you are lucky, you get to find out what the baby is! :-D So for the past week or so we have been wanting the days to go by so we could go to this appointment and see our little one again. After snow, ice, work closing, as well as all of Columbia it seemed finally Wednesday morning came and I was so excited I got up a little too early and just started getting ready right away. Adam was so excited he could hardly keep it contained!

Our Appointment was at 1030 so we left promptly at 10 (even though the doctors office is like 10-15 minutes away, told ya we were excited). When we got there, I started to get a little nervous. I was scared our little one would choose to be shy and not give us the show we wanted to find out what he/she is. Adam told me to calm down and just enjoy seeing our little one. Which we did of course. Finally after what seemed like forever (in reality it was only like 5 minutes), we got called back. We sat down in the nurses office where she weighted me and checked my iron level we all talked excitably about finding out what the baby is. She informed us that she had guessed correctly every baby for the as long as she had been working there (5 months). She she offered to guess for me too. I was like "sure." So she asked me a random question and figured out what our little one would be but didn't tell us until after the ultrasound what she guessed. And again she was right. I was relieved that I didn't ruin her streak.

Finally it was time to go back and see our little one. The last time we saw the baby was 10 weeks ago so there were some huge changes. We got to see the heart and actually could see all four chambers of the heart which was so cool. The spine and ribs were formed and easy to see. It was so awesome! We got to look at all of the baby's organs and I am happy to report that our little one is healthy!

Ok if you couldn't tell I was trying to build the suspense for those of you who don't already know what our baby is. The ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted to know (of course we said yes) and almost immediately she said well its a BOY! Oh and yeah I cried! He is so beautiful and I love my little boy already! Adam was all smiles all day yesterday and already said that he is excited to pass on his video game knowledge to our son. I laughed, anyone who knows my husband will agree that he had a ton of video game knowledge that he will share with anyone willing to listen! haha But he is super excited about our little boy!

Names you ask? Ha read your mind. Yes we have a name in mind, something we thought of long before we were pregnant. We want to name our little boy Ethan Timothy. Ethan doesn't come from anywhere, we just really like the name and have for a while. Timothy is my brothers name; here's the story. My mom when she named my brother, she used my Uncle Michael's name for my brothers middle name (Timothy Michael), so I wanted to continue and use my brothers name as my son's middle name! Hints Ethan Timothy! :-D So far we really love this name and can't think of others that we really like as much as this one. So hopefully it will stick! I think it will.

Ok I know you are tired of reading so here are a few pictures of our little one! Enjoy

I love 4D imaging! It was hard to get a good face picture though due to the fact that our little boy was facing down toward my spine so all we could get was a profile. This is the best one!

He's a CUTIE already!

The ultrasound tech kept trying to get a good shot of his little face and then he started rubbing his eye go figure! But she asked what we wanted to name him and once we said Ethan his little finger shot up like he was saying "Hey that's me!"
At the very end of our ultrasound, our little boy threw up a peace sign! The ultrasound tech said "Man this kid is cool already" We were like "Heck yeah! He's our kid!" hehe

Now we really can't wait to see our little one! Time for registries and shopping! :-D Mommy likes!
