Lego Lovers

Parker and Dallin have really been enjoying Legos lately. At the end of July we found this Lego set on clearance at Fry's for half off. I told Dallin I would get it for his birthday. But as soon as we got home he and Parker ripped it open. I can't say I tried very hard to stop them. It kept them busy for the next couple days.

The boys will usually start the sets themselves and then turn them over to Aaron or I to finish. They're always in awe over the final product although it doesn't usually stay together very long. This set is now in pieces in the Lego bucket.

One of the things that makes a great Lego set are the mini-figures. This set had some cool green goblin guys and knights. It also had some chains that Dallin loved.

I love Legos too. They keep the boys entertained and their minds working. Just don't make me find the Legos with my feet. That's where the love story goes sour.

Yum, yum!

Sophie had her first taste of rice cereal at four and a half months. Here she is all ready for her first bite. She wasn't quite sure what she was in for!

Everything that went in, pretty much just got drooled back out. But eventually she ate all that was in the bowl. In my opionion, the hardest thing about feeding babies is keeping their hands out of their mouth while they're eating. Sophie did a pretty good job, but we'll keep working at that.

All gone! I'm sure she can't wait for next time.

Waiting

Parker likes to take Sophie with him wherever he goes in the house. This is how I found them one afternoon, waiting for dad to come home. (Sophie's not able to get into that chair herself, Parker propped her up.)

Blueridge Reservoir

Julie invited us up to her campsite at Blueridge Reservoir in July. I headed up there on a Saturday morning and Tara and her girls came along with us. We had a fun time talking on the road and made it to the camp just before lunch.

Dallin and McKay weren't willing to share their lunch, so they made sure Kooky (Julie's dog) couldn't reach it.

The kids had fun playing on the Guymon's trailer. Tara brought a blow-up frisbee that they tossed around. Luckily we brought jackets for everyone because it rained on us a couple times.

Here are the kids ready for a ride in the Ranger. I don't know why they all had the urge to put their fingers in their noses at the same time I was taking their picture!

Julie took us for a fun ride on the Ranger and we ended up at this little pond. Sophie had fallen asleep by this time, even with all the bumping around. So we only got Tara's picture with her girls.

We headed home after spending a few hours at the campsite. The kids were good both there and back. What a fun trip!

4 Months

Our precious little girl turned 4 months on July 18th. She weighed 15 lb. 7 oz. and was 25 and 3/4 inches long. She still wasn't rolling over and still struggled to fall asleep on her own. Luckily she smiles a lot to make up for the drooling and hard nap times.

Way Cool Pool

We were so excited to be invited to this awesome pool. It belongs to the parents of our friends the Petersons. It was huge! There are two large steps, perfect for little kids to play on, an island to jump off of, rock slide and rocks to jump off of, diving board, and cave. Bethany told me they even had a lap pool over where you can see the blue play house, but filled that part in. We had such a fun time with several families from our ward. What a great way to spend a hot summer night!

Dallin always has to have his goggles to go swimming and up until the end of the summer he wanted the floaties too. Luckily, he's done with the floaties now and is swimming like a fish.

Parker surprised me with this flip off the rocks. I didn't think he could do it, but he proved me wrong!

McKay loved doing tricks off the diving board as long as Aaron was close by to help him onto the step. He's gotten pretty brave about jumping in and going. Sometimes he scares us though because he doesn't make an effort to get a breath. We always make sure to stay close to him.

Sophie had fun at the pool too. She even fell asleep in the pool right before we left.

Here's a picture of most of the kids.

Thanks for inviting us Peterson Family!

Tummy Time

Sophie still isn't rolling, but she does really well on her tummy. I can set several toys around her and she'll grab for them and chew on them.

McKay is such a cute big brother. He likes to help Sophie get her toys.

Elder's Quorum Retreat

One of Aaron's counselors in the Elder's Quorum presidency has a really nice cabin up in Christopher Creek. They invited the presidency and their families up to stay for a night in July. We had so much fun.

Friday night the adults stayed up and played games after the kids went to bed. Saturday we went down to the creek (via Tara's cabin) and the kids played and splashed around. Later they went to another creek and caught crawdads. We were so glad to get to know everyone better. Thanks Rasmussen family!

I Survived . . .

the grocery store with six kids. And I made sure to get proof!

New Dress-Ups

I love it when the boys play dress-up! They're so funny. We got these new costumes during the summer to avoid the Halloween rush. I think they'll have plenty to choose from come October.
