Fun Pics

These are some pictures we took at the beginning of August.

Dallin and his stuffed animal family. It surprises me how often the boys pull out the stuffed animals and play with them. Dallin has his favorites though. He made the black bear at Build a Bear, bought the dragon at the Natural History Museum, he loves the stuffed cat (and would love a real cat too) and somehow the bunny made it into the family. He doesn't usually play with the bunny.

The kids love pulling the cushions off the couches to make a swimming pool. I think they were "swimming" when I snapped this picture. I love Sophie's smile.

Parker always asks for a mohawk! This one lasted about two minutes and then it was gone!

Parker's B-Day

July 31, 2010

Parker had a low key birthday this year. Aaron was out of town and we had just gotten back from our road trip. We spent the evening over at Heather's house. Parker opened a couple presents and the kids played. He had fun with his first ever cap gun while it lasted. Happy 9th birthday Parker!

Family Road Trip: Arizona

July 1-2, 2010

With Aaron working in California I wanted to take advantage of the summer break and get out of the Arizona heat. The kids and I took a road trip and were gone for three and a half weeks traveling through Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and California. Aaron was able to join us on the weekends, but I did most of the driving with the kids by myself. We had a really fun time, even though there were some challenges along the way. I would love to do a long road trip again. But hopefully Aaron can join us next time.

Misc. Pictures

Dallin's other family

Parker had fun setting up the dominoes for Aaron.

Parker was so proud of his five story card house.

I made this bench to go at our dining table. Too bad I broke my miter saw in the process!

We took the kids to see Toy Story 3 and Prince of Persia at the drive in theater.

Aaron, Sophie and McKay were having fun walking around Bass Pro.

Dallin and Parker made a tunnel through their frozen yogurt. I wish they would work together like this more often!

Sophie's Pigtails

June 1, 2010

When I got back from our anniversary trip Heather had Sophie's hair in pigtails. It was so cute! I have no clue what to do with my own hair let alone Sophie's hair. I'm so glad Heather gave me this idea!

Anniversary Trip

May 27-30, 2010

Aaron and I got the chance to have a super fun anniversary trip thanks to my great sisters, who watched our kiddos while we were gone.

I flew over to Los Angeles Thursday night and Aaron picked me up in his rental Suburban (he was already in California for work). I told him there was no way I was driving all over California in a Suburban so we drove to the rental car place and traded it in for a Jeep Patriot. It was really nice, but smelled really bad. We got a GPS as we exited the rental place and fell in love with it over the course of the weekend. That night when we got to his apartment we decided we would go to Disneyland the next day. When we got to Disneyland we decided one day just wouldn't be enough and bought the 2-day Park Hopper. Disneyland was a blast, especially since we didn't have to convince our kids to go on all the really fun rides! Aaron did have to convince me to go on the Maliboomer and Tower of Terror. He's lucky I didn't get sick. Those rides are just a little too much for me!

This one is for Dallin. We stopped at the Lego store in Downtown Disney and they had some really great figures built that we thought he'd like.

Sunday after church we went down to Santa Monica Place (Aaron's mall) so I could see where he's been working for the last several months. We parked at his office and walked down 3rd Street Promenade to get to the mall. Some cosmetic store had a big booth set up in the middle of the street offering makeovers and had a couple poeple building sandcastles at their booth.

Here we are at Santa Monica Place with our lovely hard hats. This is the entrance from 3rd Street Promenade. Kitson is the store on the left and Nike is on the right.

This is the center court of the mall. The tall beam in the middle will light up at night, drawing people in from 3rd Street.

The dining deck is on the third floor. It has a great view overlooking the ocean and Santa Monica pier. Unfortunately, a hotel is going to be built right in front of the mall blocking some of the view.

This view is from the dining deck looking out onto 3rd Street Promenade.

I am truly grateful for Aaron's job but it has been hard having him away from us so much. We'll be glad when this project is over and he gets reassigned to some different malls.

11Years & Counting

May 22, 2010

This day marked eleven years since our wedding at the Mesa, Arizona Temple. I can't believe how much life has changed since then. We are so blessed to have each other and four beautiful kids. We got to have a great dinner at Monti's and went to see a movie afterwards. We really love our kids, but we love having time together too. While we were eating Aaron got up to use the restroom and came back with a rose and card for me. I was so touched and look forward to many great years to come.

Koltyn's Party

May 22, 2010

My nephew, Koltyn, turned one just two months after Sophie. We had a great time helping him celebrate at his Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house. We always have a great time when we go there.

Kimble wasn't too happy because she got stung by a bee.

My sister, Heather, is a great baker. She made the cake at the top and Kristi made the cake balls below.

Thanks for having such a fun birthday Koltyn!
