Afterwards, we went over to Tahnee and Tyler's for cake and ESPN. Tahnee and I got a little to cuddly with the Snuggie :)

Off Broadway
Last night, Josh and I went out with Tahn and Tyler to "Bravo Broadway" in Salt Lake. It was a compilation of popular Broadway songs in one performance. The singers? Broadway stars...including Alphaba from Wicked. It was a lot of fun to get dressed up and do something different. It was a surprise for Tyler's birthday. He had no idea until we got there.

"It's Fall"
Thursday night, Tyler and Tahnee had a housewarming party for us all to come over and mingle. I went over a little early to bring some stuff over. I was doing the dishes when I hear, "it's Fall!" I look behind me and Tahnee is throwing fake leaves all over her apartment. It was pretty funny. Tyler walked in and said, "You should have just left the door opened and had all the leaves flow inside." Lisa and Shawn were the first to come over and after that people came and went. The only requirement to attending the party: chili. It was fun to sit around, eat chili, and watch "The Office."

Waiting on the World to Change
For all you that love the history of the earth, I have a project due at the end of the semester and I need your help. I have to make a geological time scale but I have to be creative. Breaking it down, I have to make something that is in layers. I was thinking of a jar with layers of different color candy. Just something that represents each time period of the earth. I hope that makes sense. Below is what a time scale looks like on paper. Now I have to make it a project.

Better in Time
On Saturday I started feeling not so well. Still, I am not feeling great. I have self-diagnosed myself with the flu. I am not going to go to the doctor and pay $20 just for them to tell me what I already know. Yesterday, Josh called the pharmacist and asked what cold medicine I can take with all the medicine I am currently on. After he got out of class, we went over to Target and purchased some meds for people with heart conditions. So far, I don't feel any better except that my head doesn't hurt as much as it has. I have come to the conclusion that being sick=boredom. So today I thought I would plan out my school schedule for next semester, contact all my teachers and let them know I can hardly get out of bed, catch up on some homework that is due in the next couple weeks and clean my room. Productive? I would say so. Poor Josh is doing his best at taking care of me. It's hard because he is super busy that he just can't come over and wait on me hand and foot (which I am sure he is happy about). I have always just been used to someone always being right by my side when I don't feel well, that now I need to learn that I am 24, an adult and can take care of myself. Welcome to real world and to growing up! I hate that I am missing class though. I wish this would have happened last week during our fall break, but of course not. I just pray that I will get back to school tomorrow. Luckily my teachers are all so great and understanding!!

White Christmas
I just booked my plane ticket to go to Connecticut over the Christmas break to meet Josh's family!!! I leave two days after Christmas on the 27th. I leave from Orange County and arrive in Hartford, CT. Then a week later we fly out of JFK back to Utah. I am really excited. I am just imagining a Winter Wonderland. I am really nervous, but also looking forward, to meet Josh's family. This is a big step for both of us, especially him. We will be coming to the west coast for Thanksgiving and then New Years on the east coast!

Nine in the Afternoon

It is 9:00 pm and I am in the Tanner building studying with Josh. I have two tests tomorrow. My first test in Human Sexuality and my second test in my Personal Health and Wellness class. They are both on the same subjects which makes things a lot easier to study for. Wish me luck!
P.S. I saw some relatives names on a huge plaque in the lobby of this building...Ralph and Katherine Neilson. I thought it was pretty cool.

Utah State Fair
Tonight Josh and I went to the Utah State Fair with my cousin, Kasey and our friend Preston. Later Josh's roommate, Steve showed up with his girlfriend. It was a blast. The best part...BOYZ II MEN was there!!!!!!! I was in heaven. They sang some great songs. I recorded them, but have no idea how to upload my videos on to a blog post. Anyway, we walked around a lot and had yummy food. I have been craving corn on the cob lately, so I finally got some. So good! We also went on a ride that Preston about threw up on. The rest of us loved it. It was a big boat that rocked back and forth and gets higher with each swing. It was such a fun night. Thanks everyone!

Happy Birthday Josh...
...yesterday. It all started with me going over to his apartment before we had class and I made him breakfast. French Toast! I gave him his present which I was so excited to give him. I ordered him "The Lion King" and the original "Willy Wonka." Two childhood favorites.

The whole day I was so sad I couldn't spend time with him because I was lying to him the entire day. His sister and I planned a surprise party for that night. The night before, Josh and I had a conversation which went like this:
My cell phone: (text message)
Josh: Who is it?
Me: Nobody
Josh: Tell me who it is
Me: Don't worry about it.
Josh: I don't want to come across cocky or arrogant, but I don't want a surprise party or anything tomorrow. Last year I told the guys that and I came home and there was a surprise party. Going out to dinner will be just fine.
Me: I have nothing planned for you tomorrow. I was only planning on going out to eat.
Josh: K good.
Of course I was thinking "oh crap, he is going to hate me" but I couldn't cancel it.
As the day progressed, I was running around getting everything together...decorating, making cupcakes, getting food. I told him I had a meeting for my major (which I really did) and that I would pick him up at 7:30 on my way home from school. What I didn't tell him was that my meeting was nowhere close to being 3-4 hours long which I tried to make him think. He thought that was a little suspicious. At around 7:00 pm, people started arriving. His cousins, roommates, North Carolina friends, came to celebrate his turning 24. I called him to tell him I was coming. Picked him up and I didn't know what to say. I asked him about his day, turned up a song on the radio and said, "Have you heard this song? It's cool." WHAT? Why couldn't I talk normally to my boyfriend? Geez. I was trying so hard not to laugh. Then I called Tahnee because we were going to "meet up with them" and go out to dinner. We arrived at my complex and I gave him the keys so that I could carry some stuff out of my car. He was walking way slow and had a big smile on his face. I didn't know what to say. I asked him why he was smiling and he said no reason. I thought at that point that he had an idea. We get to the front door and he didn't walk in, I had to open the door for him. Ugh he was being so difficult. Then of course everyone yelled "SURPRISE!"
He kept repeating how he knew it. Oh well, his friends were there and it was fun.

After everyone left, we went over to his apartment with his sister and watched "The Lion King." Of course I feel asleep and said some weird things...oh well, it was late. Overall I think it was a good day. He's so grateful for everything.
