If you notice, there is a tab at the top of the page you can click on called "Christmas Party"
After you have read through the following options please click on that tab and vote for your favorite option. (One vote per family) I will only have this open for one week or until everyone votes. Whichever option has the most votes will win!!
Option 1: Christmas Party will be at Rose and Dave's house on Saturday, November 26th at around 1:00 pm. It's close enough that if LaCee and baby are feeling up to coming they could come for a few and leave when they got tired. Everyone else should be able to be there.
Option 2: Christmas Party at Mom and Dad's house on Saturday, November 26th at whatever time we want. We can do Black Friday shopping in Ephraim and Richfield. Ryan and LaCee may not be there....depending on the baby.
Option 3: Christmas Party at Susan and Darren's house on Saturday, December 10th at about 7:00pm. (It has to be late because I am in charge of concessions at a wrestling tournament that day) Everyone should be able to attend that. Us Idaho people can just have a break from making the trip to Utah. :)

Home Business

Okay, so it's been a while.....but I have been busy, and I'm finally ready to share what I have been up to. I decided to try and start my own business. Right now I only have rag quilts posted, but my collection will continue to expand. If you are interested in posting things on my website to sell, feel free to contact me and I will send you the details. The only stipulation is that all items on my website must be sewn items.
Please visit my website and let me know what you think. And of course, feel free to share the link with everyone you know. :)

A Good Wife?
My student teacher had this and I thought I would share it with you so all of us women out there can be grateful we don't live in 1954 :)
Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.
Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the home just before your husband arrives, gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.
Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair, and if necessary change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad he is home.
Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day. Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.
Listen to him. You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.
Make the evening his. Never complain if he does not take you out for dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

Gardening
I decided to try doing my own starts this year. It has been a lot of fun watching my plants grow. I have to admit, it's even helped keep my desire to be outside gardening in check. It has helped make February and March a little less LONG.
I was nervous at first because nothing was growing for a really long time. About a month after planting the seeds there were still no starts so I decided to put a lamp over them and just see what happened. And Here's what happened!!!!

This Saturday I had to transplant the tomatoes into larger containers. So this is what my little indoor garden looks like now. I'm going to have LOTS of tomatoes this fall. I want to can them so I can have some for my winter chili. :)

Girls Night
There are some really fun girls in my ward that are good about getting us all together for girl's night. This time they decided that the theme should be 80's. So we all dressed in our best 80's garb and had a great time. Here are some pictures from the night.
Of course we couldn't get all dressed up like that and stay home. So they decided we needed to go to Target to do the "shopping cart challenge"
So what is a "shopping cart challenge" I ask. It is where you divide into a couple different teams. You have 10 min. to pick out 15 random items from the store and put them into your grocery cart. Then you come back together and switch carts. The race is on. The first team to put all of the things away in their new shopping cart is the winner. It is an 'on your honor' type of thing. You have to trust that everyone is going to put things away where they really go.
BEWARE: If you do this activity, do not draw attention to yourselves. It attracts security guards. :)
Oh yeah, and of course I was the only one to run into someone I know while at the store. Actually, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR people I know.

House Party
I don't know if you all know about this site:
www.houseparty.com
If you don't know about it, you should check it out. It is a site that different companies go to to have people from all over the U S of A host parties featuring their product for them
If selected as a host they send you a bunch of goodies for your party and goodies for your guests too. I have been selected to host an Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Party!!!
This is the first party I have been selected to host and it is going to be fun.!! I got an email today saying that my package with all the goods was on it's way. I can't wait! It's like Christmas....kinda.
So if any of you have any good recipes using Turkey Bacon send them my way!! It is going to be fabulous!! Also if you have any game ideas that would be great too. I was thinking it would be fun to play a game where you have Pigs (regular Bacon) vs. Turkeys (Turkey Bacon). Maybe I should make all my guests dress like turkeys. :) How about it guests??!!
Also, if you're going to be in Idaho Falls on the 20th, just let me know and you can come to the party too. :)
