chaosmanor: (actually a bot)
Haven't posted any photos here for ages, so here are some recent domestic shots.

Since I have taken to running barefoot, I've become very aware of the surfaces of the footpaths.

other people have been here before me )

The House very recently acquired individual seat-style hammocks.

we may never do any work again )

[personal profile] transcendancing and I frequent an awesome cafe, possibly more often than is good for our general productivity.

Anyway, the cafe does amazing coffees, consisting of a long black and ice, blasted to a fine foam, then served with a small jug of sugar syrup. [personal profile] transcendancing has hers with an added slurp of chocolate.

and the coffees look like this )

[livejournal.com profile] buoy_wonder went through a stage of buying carved chests and refurbishing them

and he recently gave me one )

Took Kenobi, the Best Dog in the World, out for a walk this afternoon, and carried the camera as well.

we found things )

One of my current knitting projects...

I'm utterly exhausted after a long and difficult day, so today's photo is a cheat one of my desk, because at least I don't have to move, or even pick up my real camera for this.

my desk is not exciting )

Entropy always wins, things wear out and break, everything ends. I know this. And yet, I've had my favourite tea mug since 1981. It had a mate originally, which broke within the first few years, but it has survived to be 30 years old.

it's big, and blue )

We don't have much of a garden, but the attempt to turn the back verandah at the House into a jungle is proceeding according to plan...

no drought-stricken Mediterranean climate is going to stop us )

This is Kenobi, the Best Dog in the World.

sure, his tongue is sticking out, but that doesn't reduce his awesomeness )
chaosmanor: (top gear morning)
I started knitting last winter, and have been enthusiastically collecting yarn since then (as I believe is appropriate for a knitter). I keep my stash of yarn in a wooden chest that I bought from [livejournal.com profile] caitlen when she moved house years ago.

it's a lovely wooden chest )

Thank you to everyone who sent me gorgeous cards from around the world for the end of the year. I haven't yet packed them away, in part because they're still slowly trickling in (postal services being what they are...). And the cards look lovely, hanging in the window.

see? too decorative to take down, so I'll leave them up until the spiders move in )
