Tofino, BC – On Tuesday, Aug. 1, Naaâwas totem pole was raised at Naaâwayaâsum garden in Tofino, depicting âresponsibilities to future generationsâ.
âThis here is like a legal document of our peoples,â said Joe Martin (TutakwisnapÅĄiÆ), Tla-o-qui-aht master carver.
The Naaâwas totem pole was carved by Joe in collaboration with Gordon Dick, Robin Rorick, Patrick Amos, and Robinson Cook.
