Delaware Anime Society: The Rising Sun in the First State

Welcome to the Delaware Anime Society's Livejournal Community! This is a community to bring together Delaware's anime enthusiasts. However, we also welcome out of state members. We have meetings and events in North,DE, South DE, and PA. Our chapters are in Dover and Wilmington, DE and in PA.

Aside from the meetings, we also love to just gab about interesting asian and anime stuff online too. Organization of gatherings, Con goings, chat, cosplay topics, series recommendations, etc are all welcome. No flames, or I shall eye beam you...NYU! ^t^

Brief History of our Group
The DAS:

1. Evolved from the original Delaware Anime Fans


2. Began as an online mailing list in 2002


3. Started meetings in 2004


4. Changed the name to "Society" and started the 2 chapter system w/our first presidential election after the first president resigned and moved out of DE in 2004.


5. starlightkitty3, the elected president, stepped down in 2005 and Joey Green stepped up as the new North President.


6. Despite being 3 chapters, we're one united big 'family' whose leaders all work together to keep the club running smoothly.


7. The DAS ran its 1st bigger convention Zentrancon in October of 2005


8. The DAS's convention merged with Kosaikon and we're doing Zenkaikon in 2006 and beyond.
