The character of Remus Lupin is entirely copyright to JK Rowling, Scholastic, Warner Brothers, and any other companies associated with Ms. Rowling and the Harry Potter series. All that belongs to me in this bargain is this journal and the words written by my hands. Everything in this journal is fictional and based upon a fictional character from a fictional series. Nothing here is based upon real-life events, and any parallels to any person or event are entirely coincidental.
Remus is not a bold man.
He has never been, and never will be, a bold man. He’s brave, and he’s kind, but he’s not bold or outspoken and he’s not sarcastic and not snarky. He’s not happy about being a werewolf and keeps it to himself, as he always has.
Remus is quiet; as a spy, he does less of the CAPSLOCK HARRY JUSTICE and more of the sit-and-watch. He learns by listening and teaches by demonstration. He fights tooth and claw to protect himself and the people he cares for, but he does not attack without reason. He isn't really a violent person.
Remus Lupin is not bold, but he will be risking his life--and keeping that, too, very quiet. He keeps to himself about the spying job, and neither Sirius nor Tonks nor even Harry are ever going to hear about the sort of things he sees (and does) as a spy in Greyback’s clan. Dumbledore will, because--because--well, he’s Dumbledore, for gods’ sake.
Remus takes his friends to heart and keeps them there, and works as hard as physically possible to keep them safe and ensure they have a future.
Deeply in love with Nymphadora Tonks but doesn't quite feel he deserves her.
