Bijar County (Persian: شهرستان بیجار)^[a] is in Kurdistan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Bijar.^[2]

History

The villages of Pir Taj and Tup Aghaj were converted to cities in 2012.^[3]

Demographics

Language and ethnicity

The people of the county are Kurds and speak Kurdish.^{[citation needed]}

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 95,461 in 23,614 households.^[4] The following census in 2011 counted 93,714 people in 26,068 households.^[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 89,162 in 27,759 households.^[1]
