Reading: Online non-fiction, no virus.

Howl-ever It Moves You: Diana Wynne Jones and Hayao Miyazaki Do the Same Work With Different Stories (Elyse Martin) - great compare and contrast two versions of the story, and how they fit into the creators story telling traditions.

Arnott's has released its recipe for Scotch Finger - I’m not convinced, but I’ve still sent the link to Youngest to see what they make of it (ours will be gf, so probably entirely not-quite-right)

Classic SF With Absolutely No Agenda Whatsoeverâ€Ķ - James Davis Nicoll sticks their tongue firmly in cheek.

47 Hacks People With ADD/ADHD Use To Stay On Track - I’m not great with lists like this but I flicked through and there are some interesting ideas, whether you are ADHD or not.

Fic, Interrupted - The unfinished history of works in progress (Caroline Crampton) - mostly about fanfic, but also delves into the history of serialised fiction.

AO3 - What's Going on with Disney and Fanworks? - there've been some interesting takes on what the new Disney TOS mean; this looks at the probable legal status of user generated content. There are some interesting bits in the comments, but there is also wank bait.

Wired - 21 of the best fantasy books everyone should read - if you like trawling lists of books. However, you might be like me, and sprain your eyeballs in disagreement. Frustratingly, at the top it says 'series' but there are multiple non-series options listed. I did not find anything new to me that I wanted to put on my list. However, for lovers of Phat Phantasy, it is potentially a good list.

47 Hacks People With ADD/ADHD Use To Stay On Track - a lot of things I actually already do! Either at the suggestion of others or of my own discovery. They definitely help.

It's good to see more people pointing out that sci-fi is and always has been political. (Shameless plug: I wrote about that... yikes! half a year ago.) Once again, Tor's blog hits the nail on the head. And with a whole other range of examples, too.

If you come up with a GF version of that biscuits recipe I'd love to see it.

Well that's cool! If they're willing to share, once perfected, I'd be grateful. I, too, tend to have tastes that run less sweet AND I have a sweetheart who is willing to bake for me.

Thinking of all of you often.

Thanks for the ADHD hacks link. I've forwarded it to eldest and will be discussing it with the counsellor this week in hopes some of it sticks. ;)
