I have no memory of why I didn't post yesterday. And having had A Bit Of A Day, I'm not even sure what I did.
... went to the chiro. That's pretty much it. Artisanat and I then went to the cafe for an early lunch, and that was a mistake. Body had a complete snit about avocado on toast, and I came home and spent much of the afternoon lying down. There may have been some house tidying, but I don't remember any. There was rather a lot of silly dragon game (realised: I don't think I've ever recorded what this one is. Is 'Merge Dragons', and it is soo much one of those games I forget the name for where everything is about fishing for people to spend money for Stuff, all of which can be got as one slowly works through the game).
Today, I woke up relatively well, although out of one of those dreams that kind of makes sense -- trying to get to a meeting via public transport, trying to sort out the stage between Midland train station and wherever the meeting was, discovering that I couldn't get the new-to-me phone (not the one i have) to do anything useful, and instead I was going further and further into some side dimension of apps you can't get back out of. Also thought it must be earlier than it was, because Artisanat was still in bed, which almost never happens after 8am (turns out, they had already got up and gone for a ride around the lake at 6am, and then come home to nap).
I spent a lot of energy on sorting books -- I now have the 'to be catalogued' books in two stashes. The easy ones are in four piles in my bedroom, and the goal is to deal with a pile every two days in the next week or so. The too hard basket is going to be more challenging, and I don't know what I'm going to do in terms of motivation on that. I'll care about that in the New Year :).
I also (with plenty of assistance) did a lot of surface organisation and tidying, as well as a number of 'oh, I should deal with that now' tasks.
Which ended up only sort of being relevant. Of the seven friends of mine invited, one got the invite today and couldn't get here; one ran out of spoons; one has a virus they are politely keeping to themself; one is dealing with an unexpected death and planning for a funeral and didn't have the oomph to turn up. Which was fine, three people would have been great for gaming. They weren't in a hurry to get here, which was fine.
About half two, Middlest and the friends they had done the escape room with, plus one extra turned up. And then McGowan held a press conference and we have a new case of Delta been wandering around the community. Okay, little bit concerning. Friend notified that there was a mask mandate kicking in from 6pm. And then one of the J's got a phone call -- they were at one of the exposure sites (sort of) during the at risk window. So, they got collected by parent and went off to get tested; I cancelled on my friends; I said that given we had already been potentially exposed I was find with the rest of the Young People sticking around.
Most of them went and played Concept; one of them was interested in one of the Ticket to Ride versions they haven't seen before (and I've apparently not played our copy of, but there were some familiar bits so I've either played it or watched it played). So Eldest, R, and I played the UK version, which I think I would quite like with time to develop some strategies. When we did the route scoring at the end, we did the leap frog approach (person with the lowest cumulative score claims the points for one route). This meant that when the other two had placed their last cards, they were tied on 104, and I was on 100 and still had two cards. They were assuming they were about to be overtaken, but it turns out that there are routes that are worth 1 point, one of which I had. The other was three points, so we ended up with a perfect three way tie. Not a bad way to end a friendly game!
And then we had dinner, I retreated to the bedroom, the various friends headed off into the distance, and some of our Thursday group met up for a somewhat carve-em-up game of TTR Europe. And now I'm attempting to finish a few things so that I can flirt with the idea of going to bed at ten.
