Thanks to
james, who suggested I try career aptitude tests to see if that gave me any ideas for career change. I did the 'random web search' option, and came up with a number of compilations, and I'm going to work through them until I get bored :). Only the free versions though. Also, I'm ignoring whether any of these are 'scientifically based' or any other such rhubarb.
How I found them: started with a generic search string, opened some aggregator pages (links at end). Did some tests. Concluded my search had too much for high school students and not-Australians. Tried some other search strings. Got some direct hits that looked more interesting. Cherry picked those until I got bored. Also: drank a can of stout over the course of the evening, so the quality of test taking cannot be relied on. Order within a category is the order they were taken; no idea on what order overall!
General thought: I want something that says 'can you do blah', rather than 'does blah sound like fun'. Because, to pull something ridiculous out of a hat, 'creative writing' was given as an option. No matter how much I like the idea of writing (and believe me, I love the idea of writing) I'm not good at it (soooo many snippets that go nowhere. So many projects I've wanted to write, and just can't get anything down on. I have a collection of plot bunnies). I think there is one of those here.
