craft challenge
Sep. 11th, 2010 12:07 pmI have far too many works in progress of the craft type, so I'm challenging myself (and anyone who cares to join in) to complete some of them. The rules are thus - pick a number of (semi-)abandoned works (less than ten) and a time frame. Anything off that list that is completed (inlcuding any posting of photos, or sending to recipient) is a point, and gets crossed off the list. Items can only be added to the list is either a) *two* items are crossed off, or b) one item is crossed off and *every* other item on the list has been progressed in the last week. Which means eventually, I'm going to be forced to work on the projects that I really don't want to. Anything completed as a procrastination doesn't count.
Initially I was going to give myself until my birthday, and pick seven items (one per month, plus one). And then I thought about still having them to do next year, and thought about New year. And even that seemed a bit long. So, I've given myself until the end of the school holidays, which is about four weeks away, and I want to have finished at least three of the following:
This might seem a fairly meagre aim, but I have several bits of urgent work related stuff, and the two weeks of school holidays to eat away at my time.

And even that seemed a bit long. So, I've given myself until the end of the school holidays, which is about four weeks away, and I want to have finished at least three of the following:
- log-cabin nine-patch crochet blanket (one patch to finish, then joining them all up, taking photos, deciding whether it is really going to the school, posting the photos).
- Fee H's block (mostly cut out, possibly started sewing - needs getting out, looking over, finishing, photographing, blogging, posting)
- girliejones' block (central section done, probably 1/3 of the way through - needs sewing, photographing, blogging, posting)
- Fe W's block (embarrasingly, the latest received of these, and probably the easiest to finish. all cut, 1/3 sewed - needs sewing, photographing, blogging, posting)
- red quilt - needs a bit more quilting, tying of threads, photographing, blogging, sending off
- middlest's shirt. has been cut, needs sewing
- hall bench cover - needs the last bit of machine sewing done, and then putting on and some hand sewing. (7a would be to do the blue removable washable cover as well, which might be much easier to do!)
- review of 'daughter of regals'
- finish reading 'Black Maria'
- finish reading 'Palimpsest'
This might seem a fairly meagre aim, but I have several bits of urgent work related stuff, and the two weeks of school holidays to eat away at my time.
