I'm trying to get an understanding about preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM), and I've not had a lot of luck finding out about it. The aim of my reading is to learn about risk factors, and what I'm finding is about treatment. Bah.

The one nugget of info - in a study in Hong Kong, which was a retrospective study of all deliveries in a ten year period, looking at ante partum haemorrhage, they report 60,306 maternities, 1006 of which met their initial criteria, 6 of which were excluded for PPROM. I'm assuming that there were cases of PPROM in the rest of the cohort, but even still, that is a very low incidence rate.

Edit to add - this the incidence at the time if the APH - at least one case of PPROM occurred later.
