Worship

"Sometimes I go to God and say, "God, if Thou dost never answer another prayer while I live on this earth, I will still worship Thee as long as I live and in the ages to come for what Thou hast done already. " God’s already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn’t pay Him for what He’s done for me."
~ A.W. Tozer

Thank you, sweet Jesus :)

"The only way to keep a broken vessel full is to keep it always under the tap."

"Dr. Bonar once said that he could tell when a Christian was growing. In proportion to his growth in grace he would elevate his Master, talk less of what he himself was doing, and become smaller and smaller in his own esteem, until, like the morning star, he faded away before the rising sun."

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

"Our great problem is trafficing in unlived truth. We try to communicate what we've never experienced in our own life."

Made me think...

Myles Monroe spoke in Chapel today. Something he said stuck out to me: "Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. A life lived without purpose is more tragic than death, even dying young." We abuse things when we do not know their purpose, even ourselves. We misuse or neglect the potential of it. He said that God has kept us up to this point because we have an assignment. We're still full of potential and still needed on earth. There's something in us the world desperately needs. Nothing could kill Paul until his purpose was fulfilled. Then he said "I have been poured out like a drink offering... I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, I am ready to die." One of my favorite books is "Don't Waste Your Life" by John Piper and he describes the tragedy of wasting one's life on pursuits of pleasure and the life of luxury. He talks about how many times suffering brings us closer to being glad in God than times of prosperity. Myles Monroe said "I will die empty". We were born to be a blessing to our generation. We should be empty vessels, poured out for others to see; for them to arise, be awakened, and drawn to the Father. So be it!

"To touch a rose unfearful is to meet the thorn. But if that rose meant more than anything else in the world, it would be worth bleeding for."
I think that's what Jesus thought when he saw us.

Praise God

“If the thought ever comes into your mind that God is not passionately in love with you, it is a lie from the pit of hell. If you say, “Well, you don’t understand, I’m not worthy of his love.” You have to understand that God is not like the dads of the earth…. You do not have to earn the Father’s love.” – John Bevere

So here you have it...

John 12:24-26 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
