This is the meeting place for those of us who love and adore Harold Ramis in any of his incarnations—Russell Ziskey, Dr. Egon Spengler, actor, writer, comedic performer, director, or just all-around nice guy (you can tell by just how much he smiles during interviews).
Membership to this community is open; however, we do have some rules. Rules are good.
Pre-emptorially: Do not post anything that you wouldn't be comfortable having the man himself read. I'm not saying it would happen (and I'm not saying anyone would go there), but I'd like it considered nonetheless, as it is conceivable that he could stumble upon this community. Keep things reasonable; I trust everyone to be adult enough to know what reasonable is.
1) Any pics larger than a standard 100x100 icon must be posted behind a cut. No exceptions. If you post a pic without a cut it will be deleted by me and you can try again. Any entries longer than a full two screens of text (or about two pages in a standard Word document) must be LJ cut; where you put the cut is up to you. Don't know how to LJ cut? Ask—or check the LJ FAQ, ya lazy bum.
2) No spamming. If you have a new community, go to a promotion community. Not here. Spam entries will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned. The exception to this is if the community you're promoting has someting to do with HR—like a community for fans of Groundhog Day, for instance.
3) Entries must be on topic. Sure, your description of what you ate for breakfast might be fascinating to you but I can assure you that it isn't to us. All (and I DO mean all) entries must be connected at some level with Harold Ramis. These include but are not limited to:
- discussing interviews with HR
- showing pics of HR either from RL or movies (Ghostbusters, Stripes, or any cameos)
- discussing his movies (though if those discussions can at least begin with HR I'd appreciate it)
4) No bashing of either Mr. Ramis, his work, or anyone other members/commenters. If you don't like some or all of his movies, that's fine (although if you don't like any of his movies I'm wondering why you're here in the first place). Discussions of why such-and-such movie didn't cut it or why he shouldn't have done such-and-such is fine, but keep it civil. Although I like good snark as much as anyone, threads that dissolve into flames will be deleted and all involved parties will be banned. If things get wanky I'll report this community to fandom_wank myself.
So, provided all this hasn't completely scared you off, come on in and bring your pics and favorite moments and share the love!
