Update

Still here. We're okay, and far more fortunate than most these days.

I worry about P working, but we still have an income, and a fairly secure place to live. We have divided the risk of contact. She works, I do whatever shopping and interaction is needed.

Grocery day is a bit of a bitch, we wash everything with soapy water or disinfectant before it comes into the house. If it can tolerate it, we leave it outside for a few days before bringing it in.

I think I saw an example of social distancing involving my b-i-l , which is encouraging.

I also thought that I had lost my credit card when I went to put gas in P's car, but we found it on the floor outside the laundry room after I had been back to the station to search thru the trash. Could have been worse.

Echo had gotten to the point that she seemed to be unable to tolerate the prescription food that had been helping her. We tried some regular food that we have been giving to other cats, and she seemed to thrive on it. No vomiting, and she is full of energy, bright and happy. As any pet supplies may be out at any time, I ordered four cases of it. It completed quarantine yesterday.

"What is this shit?" said Echo. "Fuck me," said Lash.

Stay safe.

TV and stuff

I really like the new "Magnum P.I." I was a fan of the original series, and was fully prepared to hate this one, but I can't. There are plenty of little nuggets from the old one in the dialogue, and the new cast(especially Higgins) are great. Well worth a look, even if you didn't watch the original.

One of my new, high-zoot hearing aids crapped out and had to be sent in for repair. Fortunately it's under warranty and won't cost anything. One new aid and one old one makes for an interesting hearing experience. But since there is little worth hearing nowadays it doesn't much matter.

I am shopping for a new dentist, as my old one is edging into retirement and has funky hours. He also does not do extractions anymore, and I have at least one that needs to go. I'd try and do it myself, but I'm afraid I'd break it and make things worse. My fingers aren't strong enough to do it anymore and pliers just seems like asking for it.

I made a cheesecake today, and it should be cured by the weekend. Feel free to show up, it's actually several degrees cooler than Hell of late.

Update and an admission.

Today is "Hell Day" at P's work. This caps off "Hell Month", as the end-of-year stuff is a bitch for any accounting firm. It will likely be extended for a while as well, but it will eventually end.

My doctor is pleased with the results of the injections, and strongly opposed to any surgery at this point. He is not at all a fan of that surgery, and as he has a specialist on it in his practice I am inclined to listen to him. He said that he could introduce me to "someone who would love to put those rods and screws in you" but he did not want to. So we'll se how it goes. If I don't have further trouble with my legs buckling I really don't care how much it hurts.

Meanwhile, I'll stay off the roof.

Echo is doing well. We are discussing where to go with her medications. It's all a balancing act between benefits, side effects, and risks. But right now she seems to feel okay.

Now for the admission.

I may have been too hard on Trump. No, really. In fact, in light of his championship of the environment, his dedication to preserving our natural treasures, and his courageous patriotism which was only thwarted by cruel heel spurs, I think we should name a National Park after him.

It should be somewhere that has a lot of snow.

And we should call it --

"Yellowstain National Park"
