Overview

The United States ranks second as Madagascar’s top export markets, with total goods trade between the two nations reaching $786.6 million in 2024. U.S. exports to Madagascar totaled $53.4 million, a 13.2% decrease ($8.1 million) from 2023, while imports from Madagascar rose by 1.7% to $733.2 million ($12.0 million). The U.S. trade deficit with Madagascar increased by 3.1% to $679.8 million. Key exports from Madagascar to the U.S. include mainly apparel, vanilla, titanium, cobalt, and nickel which together account for approximately 15% of the country’s total exports.
