MORE touring? [14 Nov 2007|02:08am]

Though, like last Winter, opening for a band, and not headlining.

"Exile In America": MATCHBOX TWENTY Returning to the Road for First Cross-Country Tour in Over Four Years; Alanis Morissette and MUTEMATH to Be Special Guests; Itinerary Kicks Off January 25th

It's a daunting task to describe the sound of Nashville-based quartet MUTEMATH. Their self-titled Teleprompt/Warner Bros. Records album debut draws from an eclectic confluence of influences and styles that form some kind of intelligent, melodic rock music that feels both familiar and brand new at the same time. Alternative Press magazine recently named MUTEMATH the "1 Band You Need To See Live Before You Die." The band's recent live television appearances on Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, and Ferguson have blown minds and made lasting impressions. This will be the band's most extensive tour to date.

Tour Manager? [01 Aug 2007|03:01pm]

ccchristine_x3
I'm hoping to be photographing the band's set at an upcoming show in Myrtle Beach.

Is there anybody, perhaps a tour manager that I can contact requesting for a photopass?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks so much.

Mute Math on Letterman Tonight! [17 Jul 2007|11:19pm]

Just a reminder that Mute Math will probably be playing "Typical" on the Late Show with David Letterman TONIGHT. As in, minutes from now it'll start at 11:30 with MM probably playing somewhere close to 12:20.

Typical In-Store [06 Jul 2007|11:42pm]

chriszak
Hey guys, hope your holiday was fantastic and you're enjoying the weekend.

I just came accross a youtube video of MM playing an in-store acoustic performance. If you've seen the dvd, you know they do a pretty good job of keeping things the same but different acoustic.

Anyway, check this out. It's pretty awesome. It reminds me of like a Zero 7 song, but basically, it's just like this lounge version, and the acoustic guitars coming from Greg and Roy mesh together really well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GUqknS5otk

Too bad there's some chick trying to sing the words, even though Paul's obviously changed up the tune and rhythm of his own vocals. It also shows how much range Paul has as a vocalist, doing that R&B thing. I guess growing up in New Orleans will do that to ya.

From the mailing;

Watch for Typical on MTV as it goes into regular rotation beginning June 25th, as well as another appearance on Discover and Download on Friday, 6.29 @7:00pm

Not that I even have cable. But you know, in case you do. The video is fantastic after all...

And the info page of this community is way out of date.

More Than Meets the Eye [09 Jun 2007|01:09am]

chriszak
So, this community is in some major need of participation.

The band put up the full version the "Transformers Theme" they did for the Transformers movie on their myspace, and I love it, like everything else they do. It's cool, and it's a little cheesy, but what can you expect when they (respectably) stick to the original. And it beats the hell out of this barely standable version by Linkin Park that was originally dubbed as Mute Math's work. Thank heavens that was cleared up.

On another note, has anyone heard anything about Mute Math's plans for the future? I know they're doing that overseas tour. I talked to Darren after their show in Philly a few months ago, and they said they were taking a break this summer, and then going to work on a new album, which they've already got some ideas for.

I'm just wondering when they recorded the Transformers theme amidst all this touring...Go Mute Math.

Also, did you guys all get the new e-mail? There's so much mainstream promotion (MTV, Virgin Mobile, Late Night TV) about to happen, and then they're on a blockbuster movie's soundtrack with bands that get regular airplay. I'm all for them playing at Bonaroo and stuff, because that's where the real music fans are, but it just makes me wonder if they're going to be the new face of rock. I'm not so sure I want that to happen. I still like the guys who come out to talk to fans after the show, when they don't have to. Eh, we can only see. What do you think?

And people, lets update this more often! The group counts on everyone to make it fun.

Hi! [08 Mar 2006|08:00pm]

golden_scot
Hi Everyone!
I'm new.
My name is Allie, I'm 19, I live in Orlando, and i loooooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeee Mute math. I recently went to see them at the social in Orlando.
And to be my mushy, gushy, girly-love-christian-guys-who-play-awesome-music self, A couple of things happened tonight. We were right on the side of the stage, literally not even 50 feet from them. When they were setting up, Darren came out *sigh* looked me square in the eye and said hey to me with a smile on his face. I froze... lol but I did reply lol. Starstruck!
Then at the end of the concert, Paul was walking off stage, and litterally grabbed my shoulder and started shaking it. I got high-fives from all of them, and I got hit in the head with one of Darren's drum sticks. I didn't catch it, it landed on me then bounced right into the hands of the girl in front of me. lol, that's okay.
Anyhoo, the concert was amazing. 'Chaos' was litterally chaos, and 'Peculiar people' was a never ending 'yeeeaaahhhh, woooaaahhh' with paul's hands flying up in the air, and him running around the stage, and in the crowd (he was on top of a railing).
It was good fun... :D
oh and Veda? let me just say, that girl has an amazing voice. I wish I could sing with her. It was funny....my friends and I were in the bathroom, and so was she, and we didn't know who she was, and we asked her "is there a band on after this one?" and she was like "yeah there's one more band"... ha we felt horrible!
