Grandpa Pig is a recurring character in "Peppa Pig". He was voiced by the late David Graham. He is the grandfather of Peppa, George, and Evie, and the husband of Granny Pig. He is also the father of Mummy Pig and Dottie Pig and also father-in-law of Daddy Pig.
Biography
Grandpa Pig is the grandfather of Peppa, George, and Evie. He is also the husband of Granny Pig, the father of Dottie and Mummy Pig, and the father-in-law of Daddy Pig.
He first appears in the episode, "Polly Parrot", when Peppa and George come to his and Granny Pig's house.
George calls him "Papa IG", and he is also a frenemy of Granddad Dog.
Personality
Grandpa Pig is rather seen often as a showcaser or tutorialist, and he has a huge hatred towards animals eating his seeds and/or vegetables. He also doesn't like other stuff like gnomes, broken computers, etcetera, and he can be often disappointed at his failed attempts. Other than that, he's positive towards his grandkids.

Trivia
- From Polly Parrot until The Tree House, he doesn't wear his captain's hat, but in and after the episode Grandpa Pig's Boat, Grandpa Pig wears his captain's hat for the rest of the series.
- Grandpa Pig isn’t very good at using computers, but he is the best at mending things and he is able to mend a computer when it breaks. He also made a racing car for George in "George's Racing Car".
- Grandpa Pig and Polly Parrot's designs and boat/pirate gimmick are taken from a short film made by Astley Baker Davies in 1999, named Jolly Roger.
- The short follows Captain Roger, his cat and his crewmate, who encounter a group of pirates and save a woman named Estelle, who is also voiced by Morwenna Banks.
- Coincidentally, Estelle uses 'Pigs!' As a way to insult the pirates.
- The parrot originally belonged to the pirates, before betraying them and going with Captain Roger.
- A rig asset traced off of Roger's cat in this film exists in the Peppa Pig style, commonly used for promotional material.
- Since Grandpa Pig and his wife are the maternal grandparents of Peppa and George, Daddy Pig's family shares the same last name as him, though it’s unknown why all the animals' last names are their species.
