Coraline: Coraline Jones

Dry grass, clean skin, and a little bit of mossy berry.

In bottle: soapy-clean skin with a good dusting of powder, a hint of green and a hint of juicy berry. The powder-on-skin is definitely the first thing that comes to my mind here.

Wet on skin: soapy, powdery, pleasant. What I wasn't expecting: a definite floral feeling. It's a kind of generic soapy-floral scent, I can't quite pinpoint what it is. I'm getting sweet greens and a hint of berry, overlaid with a good dusting of baby powder.

Dry: soapy, powdery skin, after rolling about in sweet floral grass (sans the obligatory baby sweat and dirt). This is very pleasant and inoffensive, a scent that you'd love to smell on a baby, makes you want to nuzzle and cuddle and read stories aloud. It's not a particular babyish scent for me though, or a childlike one; I can see a grown-up wearing this as a kind of everyday scent.

Verdict: it is definitely pleasant and I like how it smells, but something this powdery isn't my cup of tea, even if it does smell like amazing amazing powder.
Leather, crushed grass, mud, sangre de grado, and crushed lemon candy.

In decant: I was wowed with this scent--it's "clean" soil to my nose, when I was fully expecting to not like it (which is why I tested this first of the Coulrophobia blends!). Along with the soil, I can get the crushed grass, and a faint lemon note.

Wet on skin: Grassy soil and leather, with the latter amping up and making this decidedly masculine for me. Still an interesting scent, I can tell from now that I won't be wearing this, but it's beautiful.

Dry: Leathery, slightly lemony soil and grass. This is weird, but it actually reminds me of a poolside--there's a slight aquatic tinge to it (well, mud is made out of soil and water, yes?). Surprisingly nice, really. The lemon continually recedes, and later on the scent is just plain soil and leather, with a very faint green quality to it.

Verdict: Interesting scent! I'm quite pleased at how it's turned out--I didn't really think it would be a "nice" blend. Not for me, but I might keep the imp a while as I'm curious as to how this will age.
Wild strawberries, strawberry flower, vanilla-infused sugar, early summer grasses, and milky dandelion sap.

In decant: straight up strawberry. I can't catch the other notes, they're all pretty well blended together into the sweet and tangy strawberry scent.

Wet on skin: well, guess what? Strawberries. It's slightly minty to my nose, bright and fresh--likely the dandelion sap? It's sweeter now, less tangy--it's kind of like what Kool-Aid would smell like (do they have a strawberry flavor?), sweet and sugary strawberry juice. There is that phantom oily smell on my skin, although it's not too strong.

Dry: there is something that is vaguely off with the drydown for me. Something missing, or something just weird. It's still that sweet strawberry smell, but the phantom oily/plasticky scent hanging about it bothering me too. I can't get at it; it may be the mintiness I'm getting that's warring with the faint vanilla notes and producing that oily/plastic smell. I still don't know where the minty bright note is coming from.

Verdict: Not for me. Even without the oiliness, it's a bit too candy-sweet for me; and while I love strawberries, it's a "childish" scent for me to enjoy wearing it.
