It was never about the climate

The warming was never the issue. The issue was always the revolution.

Why haven’t you ever seen a climate change protest before the Chinese embassy anywhere?

Why is it always the US or capitalism messing up the environment?

Why don’t they show up at all when China is a bigger threat to clean air than any US city?

The answer is obvious, but I’ll say it.

It Was Never About The Climate

The protesters used climate change as a hook, but their ultimate goal was always more nefarious…

It was never about the climate but rather capitalism or the US.

Check this out:

In 2024, climate activists in New York City protested alongside anti-Israel protesters at a rally headlined “Climate Justice Means Free Palestine.”

Last year, climate change celebrity icon Greta Thunberg tried to storm Israel by sea on a flotilla protesting the country’s war in Gaza, yelling “Free! Free! Palestine!” when she was refused entry.

And, last week, activists from CodePink, a far-left feminist activist group that has received funds from an American expatriate, Neville Roy Singham, living in Shanghai, took a break from their rallies supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Cuba Communist Party to circulate a video on Instagram, attacking a Utah data center project backed by investor Kevin O’Leary.

That’s a busy bunch protesting against the West.

Maybe someone should tell them that the clean air in Cuba is due to a collapse of industrial activity.

Or we can always remind them of how they treat gays in Palestine or women in general.

As the article points out, these marches were always about hating the West and what we stand for.

So don’t be fooled by the slogans or some well-meaning people showing up to protest.

The root of all of this is hatred of the West and our individual freedoms.

Calling the Paris Agreement ‘just a piece of paper’ is a mistake that will haunt the Coalition, possibly all the way to defeat.

Whoever war-gamed this phrase to side-step the hypocrisy of dropping Net Zero from the conversation without actually unpicking it from policy, has made a strategic mistake. For the life of me, I cannot understand why it was done except, perhaps, as a negotiation between irreconcilable factions.

The Paris Agreement is the central mechanism responsible for Net Zero economics.

Even with taxpayers keeping them afloat, green energy shares keep dropping. Investors know the UK economy & the public can’t take much more. Mad Ed’s UN demanded net zero crusade was never affordable or practical.

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor dismissed the need to pull out of the Paris Agreement on Monday, with Nationals leader Matt Canavan also walking away from his past stance to dismiss quitting the agreement as a “side quest”.

But South Australian Senator Alex Antic rejected the stance on Friday, telling Sky News host Rowan Dean that Australia “shouldn’t be in it”.

“We should walk out. It’s as simple as that. We should do what the US have done,” Senator Antic said.

“Because … it does have real effects.”

“There’s another whole argument here about the external affairs power in the Constitution, which I will not bore everybody with,” he said.

“But they do have real-world force in the domestic market because they do sometimes oblige countries to legislate in order to meet their requirements domestically.

Four thousand climate scientists have cried about climate change on TV. Weather maps are red-hot. And every fire, flood and dry weekend is caused by climate change, yet somehow,  half the country doesn’t want to pay a cent to stop these catastrophes and most of the other half just want to pay one or two dollars a week, which is practically nothing — not even a coffee.  It’s so low it might be “go-away” money — as in, they hope the pollster will go away and stop asking more questions about climate change. None of these people take carbon emissions seriously and this is 90% of the country.

The IPA asked 1,027 Australians how much they would personally be willing to pay for the nation to reach Net zero by 2050, and half of them said, nothing.  Another quarter said “$50 a year” which is one pitiful dollar a week.  Most of the rest said “$2” a week, which leaves barely 7% of people ticking the boxes $500 or more per year, which everyone is already paying and has been paying for years. They just don’t know it, because the cost was hidden in their electricity bills.

Typically of progressives, they will ban meat incrementally. Also typically, they are starting with those least able to push back. Copenhagen’s municipal guidelines call for nursing home residents to be limited to 2.8 ounces of beef, lamb, or veal per week.

The Government just blew $20 million on an ad campaign to “combat misinformation” by telling drivers to drive less,  inflate their tyres and remove their roof racks to save fuel.

Australia’s reckless renewables experiment is now in total collapse.

Families are being crushed by the highest electricity prices in the developed world. Yet Australia is sitting on the world’s greatest energy resources.

This includes the largest uranium reserves on Earth, some of the biggest coal and gas deposits anywhere and the capacity to be an energy superpower for generations. It’s on track to cost Australian taxpayers well over a trillion dollars. It is not delivering the reliable, affordable power our industries, businesses and households need to grow.

Prime farming land is being carpet-bombed with giant wind and solar factories that only work when the wind blows and the sun shines. None of it will make a measurable difference to global temperatures — Australia produces less than 1.3 % of world emissions.

This is no longer an energy policy. It is a shoddy taxpayer-funded racket that is actively dismantling the Australian economy. Any government serious about fixing this would pull the plug on the subsidies and mandates immediately and let abundant coal, gas and nuclear resources do what they were always meant to do: deliver cheap, reliable power 24/7.

Voters must send the clearest possible message at the ballot box: reject any candidate still backing these failed, economy-wrecking projects. Australia deserves better. It’s time to put the lights back on.

Also this week, Germany’s current Chancellor (Friedrich Merz) weighed in on this nuclear blunder when he called the reactor phase-out “a mistake” and said, “I regret this.”

Great. Then fix it!

But they’re not going to do that. Unfortunately for Germany, said the Chancellor, “it is the way it is, and we are now concentrating on the energy policy we have.”

On March 11, 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Japan and triggered a massive tsunami that slammed into the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Three of the plant’s six reactors melted down, and it became the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.

On the other side of the world, German Chancellor Angela Merkel panicked.

Her government had extended the operating lives of Germany’s 17 nuclear reactors just five months earlier. But, because of the earthquake in Japan, Merkel reversed course overnight and mothballed eight German reactors.

But Merkel’s decision wasn’t really about natural disasters. It was political.

Merkel was terrified of Germany’s Green Party— which was literally founded on anti-nuclear activism in 1980 and had been gaining ground. A critical regional election was just two weeks away, and Merkel was hoping that she might pull out a victory if she killed the reactors.

Her gambit didn’t work, and the Greens won anyway.

But at that point the fate of nuclear had already been set in motion. Within three months, the German government decided to phase out EVERY nuclear reactor in the country.
