ANYONE can participate here. This is not a rating community. It's pretty simple really. Photos are posted and a winner is chosen each week to shower praise upon.


Rules:

1. All photos must be your own (taken by you!) and based on the weekly theme. Your photos must also be portraits – either of yourself, or one you've taken of someone else. Pictures of your pets, yard ornaments, pretty scenery, etc., are acceptable, as long as there is a person or some part of a person in the photo as well. If your entry doesn't follow this guideline, it will be deleted and you may submit a different photo. If you want to change your picture for a contest, you must delete your old post and make a new post altogether. Please, no swapping of image urls. Also, don't abuse this rule, try to only do this once per contest. You may only post one picture per theme.

2. The winner is determined by the amount of "yes" votes received. You may vote "yes" for each photo that you feel is worthy of winning for that week. Friends voting just for friends is not acceptable. If you are caught asking your friends to vote for your photo or provide links to your photo in your journal, you will be disqualified and frowned upon. Winners will not be allowed to win unless they have voted for at least one other photo during that week's theme. If there are less than five submissions for any theme, you are not required to vote for any photos in order to win.

3. To vote "yes" on a photo you must type "yes" in a comment or in the subject header. There is no limit to how many photos you'd like to vote for per theme. You may compliment someone in a comment, if you'd like. But only the word "yes" will count as a vote toward that photo winning. Anonymous votes will not count. Voting "no" will not count for anything. Rude comments are lame and personal attacks/insults will result in being kicked out of the community.

4. A winner and new theme is announced every Monday.** Posting and Voting ends at 5:00 pm EST Monday for that week's theme. Obviously, the earlier you submit your photo, the better chances are that members will see it before voting ends. Anyone who recieves 4 wins will recieve a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com!

5. Nudity is allowed within reason. Keep it tasteful. We are confident that everyone will know what is within reason and what isn't. Anything that might be considered by others to be nudity, not work safe, or inappropriate for children MUST be put behind a cut with a warning or description of what we are about to see. Go here for instructions: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75. If more than one person politely asks that your image be placed behind a cut, don't argue, just do it. Failure to do so will result in your photo being deleted. Second offense will result in being banned, as well as any member taking advantage of this rule by asking photos to be put behind a cut for ridiculous reasons other than those mentioned previously (moderators call), will also be banned.

6. Photoshopping is allowed.

7. Please put the theme in the subject box.

8. Please keep your pictures no wider and no taller than 600 px.

9. The comments option must be left on your post so we can vote for you. Please do not link us to your journal. You must post your picture in the community, or we won't be able to vote for you.

10. Please do not advertise other communities or post anything unrelated to the contest/theme without asking a mod first. Thanks.
