VPN causing EAC nonsense

Game refuses to launch while having an active PIA connection (W/ split tunneling bypassing everything related to this game, EAC, and Steam). No justifiable cause for this exists and every other game with kernel-level anticheat works fine.

I use Surfshark VPN with Wiresock client and no issues with EAC.
Can play multiplayer, whatever, same as no VPN. No difference.

Yeah, this is the only time I've ever had something like it happen. EAC flagged G.Skill RAM RGB control software as a cheat one single time multiple years ago but that's it. Took hours worth of troubleshooting before I figured out my benign privacy software is somehow the point of incompatibility.
