Is Hard difficulty truly hard?
TL DR: question in the title

Details: By no means trying to brag here, there is plenty of slasher games that kick my ass. Silksong, Nine Sols, you name it. And Very Hard is when true challenge for me starts

However, on Hard game feels like cakewalk most of the time. Mastiffs do make me sweat a little but Sam bossfight I usually win within 5 min.

Many people actually get surprised when they hear that. They believe that this game is verry challenging regardless on difficulty. and when I say I play MGR on keyboard only they genuinely get impressed

Really curious. Is game hardcoreness overrated or I got gud?

Once you beat the hard difficulty, the game unlocks a new difficulty, and once you finish that, it unlocks the hardest difficulty Revengeance, where each enemy practically one shots you if you don't have all the upgrades for yourself. But people usually cheese the difficulty by using the Fox Blade, which also just one shots your enemies.

If you wanna experience the hardest difficulty by default, you just have to use the Konami code in the main menu from what i remember, and if you want it to be truly hardcore, just try finishing the game without the Fox Blade.

I am aware. and liek I said, Very Hard kicks my ahh just fine.
lol I never knew the Fox DLC gave you a cheese weapon. I got Platinum on PS3, I guess the hard way.

It's doable and all, but it turned a 6 hour game into a 130 hour game with how many times I had to keep restarting from checkpoint.

Do you also get hit too many times and be like "no, unacceptable, skill issue, had to start over and get better results"?

Yes, and that number of times was one. The game auto saves, so I'm not going to risk ruining my S Rank run on a battle where I took damage.

to be honest, revengeance is just annoying, or rather, the stupid gorilla enemies ruin the revengeance difficulty, theres no reason why their ground pound should insta-kill you considering they can perform it from across the arena and out of your field of view
I find the jump from Hard to Very Hard absolutely brutal for me. I go from breezing through pretty easily and mostly just dying fighting large annoying groups to struggling to fight basically every single group.
In Africa already VH is apain. Gekko, then the RPG guy and 2 hounds.

If you insist, I´ll seriously say that fight is harder than Armstrong and I will die in this hill. "!oh buubub it´s optional bububu" and so is fighting Sundowner ignoring the shields the whole fight.
