skate.
pumping
Can you pump using the triggers? The pumping overall is ass but pumping by pushing your stick forward is probably the worst way to do so it messes with your direction at speed you cant turn and pump and also you cant antipump manually. In the predecessors the pumping felt really good compared to real life but skate. is really bad at it.

Yeah can do exactly that. its the default setting. If you want more power turn off vert assist in the options.

Don't jam the triggers down, it wont work, you can be really, really subtle with it.

it's also more about when you release the triggers, you release when you want the pump to happen. On really big ramps you release the trigger much closer to the lip.

IMO once you get the timing down its much better than the previous games with way more control and options

yeah it doesnt work like it used to in skate 1/2/3

i stopped bothering to try cuz it felt gross
It takes practice, but you can blast pretty high once you get the hang of it. I do it just like real skating, bend your knees (press either trigger) into the transition, straighten them (let go) out of the transition.

And turn off all assists. Learn it the right way, then gradually turn them back on if you feel like they help...they usually don't once you've learned how to do it right.
Have you tried changing the pumping/assist settings? I came across this thread where someone found that the pumping settings can make a noticeable difference in how momentum generally feels. You can also try experimenting with Pumping Strength as observed here.

It might be worth trying with the assists lowered/off and Left Stick Forward to Pump enabled.

Feel free to share your thoughts if you're willing to reinstall. We track feedback like this closely.
