C.H.U.D. - Atom's Feral Monk
I really want to explore the Feral mechanics but being a Ghoul is so ridiculously strong, I figured I'd try to make it a 'little' more difficult.

I'm not sure if this is even possible. I've played through some in my head, over the past several days, and it hasn't worked out too well.

This is a WIP. Here's where I am with planning...

OBJECTIVE:
- Become a feral Ghoul ASAP
- Complete the MQ with...
- 0 hrs slept
- 0 food eaten ( feral kill might affect this )
- 0 chems taken

MOD LIST:
- UOP
- Beast Hunter ( HA! ...like C.H.U.D. could even )
- Ghoulish
- SKKs Survival Utilities ( console / savefile )

SPECIAL:
- ST: 9
- PE: 1
- EN: 1
- CH: 3
- IN: 1
- AG: 9
- LU: 5

THE TENANTS OF THE GLOW:
- Survival
- No PA - no milkdrink'n here
- No Sleep - no good ( this is an issue )
- No Nukas - it's crawling pace after 3-4 days
- No Food - no care, we Ghoul
- No Water - no care too
- No Chems - gotta stay feral

- Ghoul - being Feral has an unarmed attack mechanic. In which... the player is supposed to automatically cannibalize the target. ( No clue how this will work with tracking the corpses, thus food, eaten. )

- Unarmed - For the most part. Becoming a Ghoul at L1 will demand the use of anything we have.

- Stealth - Gotta remove the character from the gameworld.

- VATS - The Paralyzing Palm is a VATS only, thing. ...and VATS will be a must, when he reaches slo-mo from lack of sleep.

PERK LIST: (required- L-54, likely L35 max)

ballistic weave ghoul ;)

not so feral... are you? ;P
Have fun. Not anything I would be interested in doing. But if you enjoy it, that is all that matters.

I think there are several other ways to gimp your char and still have fun. There is also Hard Core. One death and it's over.
Yeah... we ain't do'n this one Dead is Dead. lol

He grabbed all he could carry and made it to DC.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3779738418 It wasn't until he talked to Myrna that I realized CHUD is Brovlov bro. ...or distant cousin.

Amazingly enough, Cricket was in DC!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3779738653 I forgot all about this stupid thing. We had written this off as junk, in the past, but we have a new target weapon! ...maybe.

He made it to the Clinic and was changing out of the Hazmat when we noticed something missing. He sold our 10mm and all 96 rnds. SMF! Oh well... we go in with knuckles, a bottlecap, a frag puck, 2 nades and a fire bottle.

It took 2 hits per Ghoul in the first room. All VATS'd from stealth. No one noticed as we hit L4. The rest were all 1-shot after now having Rooted and Ninja.

Except the Glowing one. The two mines took out his legs and it was spam the attack button for another easy win.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3779738557 Goulified!
However... hunger and thirst stats stayed on HUD but were removed in the pipboy.

Appreciated.

Here's the thing... I don't know how long it's going to take to become Feral. It seems like it's a couple of days. Which sux. Because, by that time, he'll be Exhausted.

That means he can't sprint for the Feral kill move. ...IF I understand the documentation.

...and that's a huge if.

Besides, Paralyzing Palm isn't until L46. Maybe I didn't think this thing through.

EDIT:
He picked up one of the Speed legs from Daisy. We need another 200 caps to get the other from Deb. Then, find Lucas for the other arm. ..another 600 caps.

Next...
-grab Armorer 1 and shadow all the gear.
-figure out how to quickly hit L13, take Armorer 2 and muffle the legs.
-hopefully, by then, we'll have 4k banked and get Lividity from Cricket

That Creation Mod requires level 46 to use it? That is dumb.

Not sure that would be a good item for him. Once you go full feral, you stay that way I think until you take chems? Have never tried to stay full feral as a ghoul.

The Fist from Swan however, would be great.

This is great, I need this in my life lol

Are there any NPC reactions to you being a ghoul when you finally change? Or is it just all the same except you're a zombie now?

The paralyze effect from Iron Fist rank 5. You take that perk at L46. The weapon from Cricket can be used like any other weapon. ...any time.

Good point on the Feral. He won't be taking chems. So, once he gets there, he'll stay that way. ...unless something stupid resets it. ...like a Stimpak

Indeed Swan's fist would be great. ...but I need his fist to get it. lol

I'm not sure if there's any visual change. I think he only slumps when idle. Still... if you are Feral, BoS will attack on sight or maybe just shun you.

If you wear a disguise (ie any covering of the body, hands and face) you can get into DC. Otherwise, they just kick you out. ...no matter if you are Feral or not.

Ahh. I have never did a unarmed build play run. Never have taken a single perk from it. Ever. But I do know there is a Creation mod which adds it I think. So I assumed it was from a mod. Thanks for the info.

Swan is not too hard if you dodge his attacks. Lol. Very challenging at lower levels that is for sure. He can kill you on Survival with one blow. Range attacks is the best strategy for him.

Lots of reactions. Companions will generally not like you going feral. Some will outright hate it. The guards in DC will even throw your ass out of the city if you are not disguised.

However, there is a sitting in the ghoul setting tape you can craft which will keep the guards from throwing you out of the city. But does not end their negative reactions to your char as a ghoul.

I've ran an unarmed dude or 2 in the past. Just playing and not focusing on the MQ. ...and NOT with ridiculous restrictions. ... on Survival, no less.

Swan is easy. He will not come down that alley. It's perfect for staying in cover and pop your head out between his rock throw'n to land a shot or two.

Alas, that's not an option ATM. I need Bladed Knuckles and shadowed gear to even try an attempt. Although, he is subject to mine cheese and grenade sauce. But those were sacrificed only to become a Ghoul.

That Furious Fist of his, is arguably THE best unarmed weapon in the game. Only outclassed by a Bloodied Fist or Bloodied Deathclaw. EDIT: I mean, Wounding not Bloodied.
Not always understand what is the purpose of some actions/decisions cuz don't know how exactly being feral works, though, in-game ferals don't look much stealthy for me barring those who pretend to be dead :lunar2019piginablanket:

EDIT: also I assume speedruning a vertibird is a must? Cuz how to move long distances otherwise when exhausted and no cola?

Totally over the top movie and we enjoyed it when we saw it in the theater back in the early/mid 80's.

Stealth is a must for him. Not because he's a Ghoul or even because he will eventually become Feral. It's because he can be one shot by Mama Murphy.

Stealth is his armor.

Indeed. Sadly, becoming a Ghoul dropped is sleep a couple of stages. He's already one stage away from not being able to sprint.

Hell... He maybe be Incapacitated by the time he goes Feral. Walking like he's encumbered, and VATS becomes a gotta-have.

This entire thing is an experiment. We will learn together and I'll die alone.

EDIT: No sleep and no Nukas may change. Simply, to be able to utilize his Feral kill-move attack thingy. ( whatever that is )
