how much would a deathclaw weigh?
just a question that occurred to me and that ive been trying to theorize in my head. using a reference image and assuming every human is 6 foot tall. when a deathclaw does that animation where it stands STRAIGHT up to look around, your head is about the height of their hip. so what, 13-16 feet tall? give or take? dense heavy muscle, thick armoured hide, im sure the bones are dense too. and our weigh zone is somewhere around like, 1500-2000+ pounds

what do you guys think? or is there a more direct source for this? its something that im, for some reason REALLY wanting to figure out

3000 - 4000 pounds.

I once read a polar bear held the record for being the heaviest of them, stood 12 feet tall and weighed about 2100 pounds. Kodiak Bears are also heavy weights.

aha ha ha haaaaah
I would guess 2,000-3,000lbs based on height and length. They're much leaner than bears, more human or velociraptor (counting the tail) in musculoskeletal shape and density.

That's a weak one. The Alpha males, It's 3,071 pounds.

Oh... sorry. I posted the female weight.

Color me red.
no way to know; what actually is it? the pre-war combat deathclaw was a jackson's chameleon DNA (you know, the SUSE linux logo) mixed with a bunch of other species with it's ferocity and aggressiveness dialed up to 11 to make a supertrooper you could turn loose on the battlefield... but come on, where is this mass coming from? mixing lizard and mammal DNA like tigers and gorillas, I mean sure, why not... so then the Master grabs some and mutates them with FEV, to the point we even got an intelligent, capable of human speech even, variety! so OK now what the hell are they?

you're trying to figure out something that is wholly fictitious. you'll have to pick various species, say dinosaurs, or wetland sumatran tigers mixed with lowland silverbacks (the most dense mitochondrial density muscle we know of) and then square cube it to match the appearance standing next to a standard 5'10" 170-ish lb settler, or even Nate's fighting fit war era self, whatever.

let's hypothesize a legendary mythic when in it's standing "taunt" idle where it's meercat'ing as tall as possible is 3.5x that, so 18-20' and 1600-2400 lb? but using the density and square cube of a average male silverback, that could be a 5000, even 6000 pound beastie.

just leave it to your imagination. stop trying to quantify a fictional entity. enjoy the not knowing! :-) it's like wanting to know exactly what Power Armor would weigh. you do know people have actually done this, measured every dimension of the plating, scaled it, measured it against known military ballistic alloy armors we used pre-ceramics and composites, how much motor power and what they'd weigh to make it move at that speed, and on and on and on... don't be them. don't bring reality into a game. :-)
How much would a chocolate whipped cream cake weigh?

Lol. :steamthis:
there are 2 data which could help us to guess-calculate..

1) their body size = how many human approx.
2) they can throw you a car..

• 1)) from frontal view, a deathclaw is ~3 man wide.. from side view it is approx. 3 man wide (lateral).

quick math; 3 x 4 = 12 men's volume. which means 1000-1200kg

• 2)) approx a 750kg car (wrecked) can be accalerated + thrown by x4 heavier mass.

even quicker math: 3000kg

- - - -
Conclusion (educated guess)
(3000 + 1200 ) / 2 = ~2 tonne

Have a nice day.
