I've just had black screens for loading, for a while now. No green grid background, no tips, no spinny models. I almost forgot those use to be things.

Well...

Off the top of my head, I would say you have a mod that is cutting out the animated loading videos from the load screens -probably in an effort to speed up loading times.

And since you do mention "57 mods" but don't tell us what those "57 mods" are... I would suggest you start there.

Look for a mod that "speeds up loading times" or "removes cut scenes/movies"....

OR, you have a mod that ADDED to the cut scene pool that is not working correctly - that is always possible too... again, without knowing your mods.. hard to say.

For me, all I have are the NG and AE things. But mine was just black screens before either of those. Pretty much the same exact time that loading started taking a long time. So we're talking 6ish years ago

Okay, you were spot on. So I had the addictol mod installed. Appearntly it had a feature that would turn the loading screen black to help boost load times (I guess for weaker PCs). I've only played survival mode so having saves affect performance doesn't seem likely. I simply edited the Addictol.toml in my vortex mods/f4se/plugin folder changing and set 'bloadScreen = false,' and now my loading screen shows models again.

Glad the guess was right.

Only seen that behaviour with FPS mods, loading time mods, and mods that add loading screens so I was hoping it was one of those, and not some sort of new wacky bug to learn and fix...

Yeah sometimes my screen does have a model turning on it, and others it doesn't, very likely SOME of those mods are doing something unexpected.

I've actually had 2 model/tip loading screens since the update. So they do still exist. JUst not often. :D
