Investigating Input Stuttering Issue
Hello Hunters!

We’re currently investigating an issue where the game appears to stutter relative to player actions.

If you are currently experiencing this issue as described in this thread , please send us the text contents of your DxDiag (open DxDiag and “Save All Information…”) and the graphics_option.ini (typically found in the folder: Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\). Simply copy the text contents of each file and paste it to Pastebin so we can download on our end.

While we can’t confirm a fix is possible at this time, as mentioned above, we are actively investigating the issue and the information you provide will greatly assist our process.

Thank you!

So let me get this right. This has been an issue for MONTHS, has been reported by players for MONTHS, and Capcom Customer Service are NOW acknowledging the issue, hours before their next patch (which many were hoping would resolve the issue)???

This post by Customer Service is more an insult than anything.

Let's just be happy they're here trying to help and make the best of it, because it's great to see some actual official response.
This has been a long standing issue, and the other thread has been open for MONTHS, so fingers crossed some people from the other thread will respond like they did previously.
Thank god they finally acknowledge this issue 👍

🤞Hope they can fix it 🤞

If you run without vsync and without fps cap, then run with a fps counter you can see frames dropping while running in place spamming sprint. Here is one example using MSI Afterburner to capture it:
Idle, doing nothing(~100fps): https://i.imgur.com/ha3PsB2.jpg
Starting spamming sprint(fps drops to <90 with frametime spikes): https://i.imgur.com/4lPfUYP.jpg

It's worse in multiplayer, you could test if you have enough people be 16 in the Gathering Hub all spamming sprint while running in circles and have one guy just pan the camera slowly, the stutters should be very noticeable.

Good luck, I hope it will be fixed soon :)

Edit* new one but with 60fps lock, vsync on(added frametime graph so you can see the variation).
Idle, doing nothing: https://i.imgur.com/ITgQiAc.png
Spamming sprint then stop: https://i.imgur.com/aW3IfqP.png
See how frametime fluctuated during that time

While monitoring the frametime graph provided by MSI Afterburner I noticed when you open up the map there will be a spike in the graph.

Here is a video recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5xG6Xn4Rbc

Another clip at 1.7GHz, the reason for this underclock is to make it more noticeable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uECglN9wZQ
(download link in the description as I don't think youtube does it much justice).

There are no issues with moving then stopping repeatedly while unsheathed but is while you are sheathed, even sitting then standing repeatedly causes this issue.
Awesome, hope this will get resolved soon.

Outstanding to see a thread like this get posted :D

Here, hope it helps.

Feel free to request any other information, testing, etc. Myself, and others will be more than happy to help in anyway to get this resolved.

I can provide recorded video footage at various configs/settings if it will help. Recording would be done through a HDMI capture to not affect the game in anyway.

Quick note for others posting their DxDiag: Although it doesn't matter, I'd recommend removing the desktop name, and machine id on lines 5 and 6 in DxDiag.

Not 100% sure on the constant stuttering (might just be used to it) but I've been getting cart delay for a long time now. I assume it's not supposed to happen.
Thank you guys for responding, Capcom can hopefully get this issue fixed, make sure you spread this thread's awareness elsewhere for people having the issue!

Can't believe the 300 page thread actually worked. Great job boys. I might actually be able to play the game and subsequently purchase Iceborne.
