2026 SAGES Flexible Endoscopy Course for MIS Fellows

Course Overview

The SAGES Annual Flexible Endoscopy Course for MIS Fellows is an immersive non-CME course that delivers a strong foundation in diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy, with practical applications for surgical trainees across multiple disciplines. Designed for fellows in the 2026–2027 academic year, it features didactic panels, expert demonstrations, and hands-on lab sessions that provide real-world skill development in a structured environment.

Learning Objectives

After completing this course, fellows will be able to:

  • Recognize and manage common GI pathologies using flexible endoscopy
  • Learn options for management of GI hemorrhage, perforations, fistulas, biliary and foregut pathology
  • Practice advanced procedures such as EMR, ESD, POEM, ESG in simulated lab settings

Additional information:

Registration:
This course is open only to first- or second-year fellows in the 2026–2027 academic year. Each program may register up to two fellows per scheduled course, and registration is limited to the first 60 applicants.

Please note that this is a registration application and is subject to review and approval by the SAGES office. Final confirmation will be sent once your application has been reviewed and accepted. Do not make travel plans until you receive an official acceptance email.

SAGES Candidate Membership (or submission of a completed application) is required for participation.

Course Fees & Attendance Policy:
There is no cost to attend the course. However, applicants will be asked to provide a credit card on file at the time of registration.

  • Fellows who do not attend and fail to cancel their registration in advance will be charged a $100 no-show fee.

  • Meals and hotel accommodations are provided.

  • Participants are responsible for all travel expenses, including airfare, ground transportation, and parking.

SAGES will provide shuttle service to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Note: Early departure transportation is the responsibility of the individual fellow.


Hotel Accommodations:

  • There will be two fellows per hotel room. 

  • Fellows may request a single room for an additional fee, subject to availability.
