Update
On Monday the 10th we watched the BCS Championship game with the Josh, Melissa, Rob, Adrienne, Lincoln and Danielle. It was so fun to get together and Melissa made a great meal. Ryan had a million tacos. Thanks for having us over. This weekend Ryan and I watched the movie Buried and had Cafe Rio. We also had dinner at my parents house and went with them to see a Sundance movie called the Guard. Both movies were really good. I am also loving this sweatshirt that I got at American Apparel after Christmas.

Birthday Weekend
On Thursday I picked up The Town and some candy for Ryan's surprise.

Friday was his birthday! Here is a picture of him before we left for dinner (please notice the pink blanket in his arms, lol)

We went to Porcupine for dinner and watched Wall Street when we got home. Saturday we went with my family to get our Sundance tickets for this year. We lucked out and got tickets to almost everything we wanted. Afterwards we went to Eggs in the City for brunch. It was very tasty.

Sunday we went to his cousin's homecoming. His cousin served in Guatemala like Ryan and he gave a great talk in his Spanish accent.

Wallpaper File Cabinet
I love this idea that I found on Design Sponge
We have a ugly typical file cabinet but I want to upgrade the look when I get a chance.

Christmas 2010
We had a wonderful December. To get into the holiday spirit Ryan and I went to the festival of trees. I am always amazed by the creativity of some people.

Here is a picture of some of our decorations and Christmas tree

We spent Christmas Eve with the Terry family. We had a great dinner and had a timed gingerbread house making competition.

1st place Lizzie and Rob

2nd place Anne and Ryan

3rd place Collin

4th place Annie and Danny
Christmas morning we spent with my family. We had egg souffle for breakfast and were spoiled with great presents. Afterwards we went back to the Terry's and were spoiled once more. Later in the evening we went back to my parents for a great turkey dinner and than we saw True Grit. Everyone really enjoyed the movie and I highly recommend it.

Pearl Jam for Ryan. This is every song in their catalog.

My dad was Santa

I got this darling Emera bag to carry my birthday present around

Ryan's excited for Christmas

Dana and Henry

My mom got some cute decorations for the kitchen
Thanks for the wonderful Christmas!

I also found this on Ikea Hacker

This is the Ikea Besta Consol and it's $125.00. After upholstrey nails were added it ended up looking like this

I love the way it looks.

Birthday Boy!

Awhile back Ryan was editing a show that was about the book the 5 Love Languages. It started a conversation between me and him regarding the ways we like to be shown love and the ways that we like to demonstrate love. Usually the two are similar, you like to give love the way you like to receive it. Number one on Ryan's list on what he likes to receive is Words of Affirmation. For his birthday this week I asked him what he wanted and he said he wanted me to do a nice thing for him everyday. So, although I know he was joking around I figured I would honor his request. Today I am listing 29 things I love about him.
1. He is ambitious
2. He is funny and creative
3. Love his green eyes
4. He is a great son and son in law
5. He has a contagious laugh
6. His man crushes crack me up
7. He is a hard worker
8. When he loves something he really loves it
9. He is a great uncle
10. His ability to live off of cheese quesadillas because I don't cook very often
11. He is a wonderful friend
12. He knows the lyrics to every Pearl Jam song
13. He loves to watch movies with me
14. He is a football champ this year
15. He is very supportive
16. He will do random workout videos with me
17. He has ordered the same thing at Mocha Salsa for years
18. His ability to remember every silly thing I do, sometimes I don't like this :)
19. He is adventurous
20. He wants a dog. When we got married he said he would never want one.
21. He looks great in his Penguin clothing
22. He knows a lot about the gospel
23. He is great at words with friends
24. He is kind
25. He is smart
26. He is helpful
27. He finds really funny online videos
28. The way he looks wrapped up in a baby pink blanket that we have

Ikea Hacks
The other day I was looking online for Ikea Hacks and came across a few that I really like.
This started out as a black Hemnes dresser from Ikea and Centsationalgirl turned it into this for her little boy's room

Ryan and I currently have this dresser from Ikea

Here are a few ways to change the look that I really liked

New Year and another try at Blogging
I promise Michael Jackson's death wasn't so tragic that we couldn't recover and I stopped blogging. I just lost the motivation but I'm going to try again. I really want to post good ideas I find while surfing the internet so that I don't forget. Although it's only January 2nd, we've already had a fun and busy new year. We celebrated New Year's eve with Ty and Erika. We went to dinner, a movie, did the Tim Tam Slam and watched the ball drop. I will have to wait for Erika to post the one picture we took so I can use it here.

Tim Tam Slam instructions:
1. Have your hot chocolate ready in front of you.
2. Then bite off a small corner from opposite ends of the Tim Tam.
3. Place one bitten end of the Tim Tam in your mouth and dip the other bitten end in the hot drink.
4. Now suck. Use the Tim Tam as a straw. As the hot drink is pulled through the biscuit, the structure of the biscuit and cream collapses.
5. Once you sense the drink on your tongue, pop the whole Tim Tam in your mouth before it explodes.
I thought this was a fun little activity and I'm thinking about making it a Christmas or New Year's tradition.
On Saturday we went to CPK with Ryan's high school friends and got to catch up with a few that were in town for the holidays that we hadn't seen for awhile.
Today we went to our cute nephew's baby blessing. He is such a darling little guy and he was given a very nice blessing.
Tomorrow the Bachelor starts again and both Ryan and I are very excited. Hopefully he picks someone this time around.
